I haven't seen much talk about this, but what is the use of the new tormentor?

It only has two gun hardpoints. What can it possibly be used for in combat without a decent array of weaponry?

The whole point of rebalancing frigs is to start eliminating the tier system. This begs the question: why, or in what role, would a pilot choose a tormentor over a punisher? As far as I can tell, there isn't one. Thoughts?

The new tormentor can use 2 light drones in addition to 2 medium pulse lasers, it is also fast consider the ship like a beginners guide to the slicer. Long point and kite like a pro.

Still, dps is a serious concern. Even with drones, frig 5, and medium pulses. What kind of dps does this get? I don't have the latest eft, or I'd figure it out myself. My best guess is about 100 with max skills (with scorch), nearly half of which can be destroyed. What does the punisher get with its new bonuses?

Maybe it's not meant to be a tanky brawler. Rebalancing the frigs doesn't mean making them all similar in terms of stats. If you're going to have a variety of frigs, they need to fill a variety of roles. They can't all do the same DPS.

157 all 5, med pulse with scorch, two hob II's. No Heat.

Optimal is 15.9 km.

Tormentor is only laser frig with 3 mids and more than able. It's a stepping tone to the Slicer.

You choose a tormentor over a punisher when you want to tackle.

I'm new to pvp but still want to be useful, so I fit a bunch of frigs including several tormentors to tackle. 3 mids unlike punisher.

Yes an interceptor is better, but I can't exactly throw away 30 million isk hips.

The new Tormentor is very fast for an Amarr frig. It does decent dps as well (not amazing, but manageable).

It's like a slightly weaker Amarr Rifter... bad taste in my mouth now.

Also worth noting with the 2 drones, you have a bit of varience in damage, you have 1/3 of your damage coming as anything you want, instead of the usual EM/Therm
