I find it strange that one of my alliance CEO's posted a general question about Arnon being a noob system yesterday and by the 8th page he was the devil incarnate. Since eve began their have been griefers..and pirates and general scumbags. It is or rather was the most interesting part of this game. The ability to act anyway you wanted, in a SANBOX scenario was what made EVE great.

We all understood that we could be ganked or killed at anytime if we made mistakes, that was simply the way things were. My first week playing i auto piloted thru a low sec system and obviously died in flames...thus a valuable lesson. If you flip a can the person you flipped has the option of shooting back or not, pretty simple. I find it utterly ridiculous that the threat of a ban now exists over something so many have done for years.

Every griefer has understood the rules no starter systems...i disagree with this but understand it. Now after 9 years CCP has decided to start adding systems, interesting to say the least. They have already completely ruined the war mechanics, they are working on destroying the aggression mechanics, and now the threat of banning is in the air for flipping cans, a time honored tradition in this game i might add.

I realize that this thread will probably be met with the same ridiculous stupidity that was prevalent in Tah'ris' thread but ask yourselves before you begin your endless diatrip...How many ppl in the game of EVE honestly can't read the big warning signs that say.."if you take from this can you will be agressed to someone"? It is the exact same thing as when you go into low sec, you get a warning.

This about protecting noobs...my simple reply is why? where any of us actually protected when we started playing? Simply put this is a hi learning curve game dealing with griefers and pirates is part of that just a fact. you want to start banning for can flipping in area's in which everyone including veterans run epic arc's then you are as idiotic as the players who shoot back cause someone stole thier minerals...period

Sure there are griefers in the game, however, the difference is, what constitues as griefing in EVE, is a much smaller set of actions than what is defined as griefing in other MMO's,

Drinoch hit the nail right on the head here. As long as I've known this game I've known the dangers of griefers and pirates. I've made the mistakes in losec and even in hisec can flipping and have been popped and learned from it all. All of us have. It's really why I've come to love this game. These new changes are all to protect noobs who cant deal with the ramifications of stupidity and I feel like it's a load of crap.

Back in my can flipping days (no one aggroes an almost 6 year old) they brought out an omen to gank my rifter. I giggled with glee as I countered. Turned out it wasn't an omen at all
