How should we improve the inventory UI?

ISSUE: ease of accessing a new inventory window when a container is already open and configured in such a way as to be tedious in deriving new window from it, such as a cargohold taking up minimal space in the corner of the screen in a way that makes the tree pane impossible to utilize without stretching (destroying current config) the container window.

SOLUTION: shift-clicking inventory button on neocom spawns new inventory window in a default position, of moderate size, with the tree of available containers reasonably expanded to include major containers (ships, station containers, corp hangar but not individual divisions)

To go even farther, shift clicking the neocom inventory button could open up just the list of containers available at the given location and then once one is clicked the new window becomes that container with the tree pane compressed out of the way.

Allow us to add our own Inventory Tabs

For example, let me create an area in my inventory that i can call "Skills & Implants" i can drag all my stuff in there etc etc.

You have filters at the moment, but they are not as good.

1. Has anyone had difficulty creating contracts with multiple items in it? Not as easy as it used to be, I think it really needs to be streamlined.

2. Separate the ships back to a separate tab. it takes way too long to move things around and fit.

3. We should be able to right click on our ship to access drones bays - in station and in space.

There are just too many things packed into the inventory UI IMO, scrolling up and down to move things around is not effective, smooth, nor quick. Much of it I really like and appreciate the Dev's hard work on this.

and also acces cargo / corp hangars etc.

Jita is a very dangoures place - concord killed me like 15 times today!

Rollback to the previous UI. It worked perfectly for what we needed. This new "one-window inventory" is an absolute mess that quite literally renders the game unplayable to pilots relying on speedy reflexes and those doing logistics (moving big things in Freighters etc).

ISSUE:
Messy modules in my inventory all look alike after a few nights without sleep.
FIX:
Improve the sorting system so that we can put tags different items.


ISSUE:
Always running missions and I usually accidentally dump some ammo into my station inventory along with some of my loot
FIX:
Make an "Ammo Bay" to separate my ammo from other loot. You could even turn it into a skill. For ever level you gain x amount of ammo bay space. You could even take that space away from the cargo hold.

Problem: The unified inventory window takes up too much of the screen, obscuring a dangerously large portion of the screem when flying in space. A size reduction to solve this problem reloates all stacked windows and can be tedious to correct. Spawning a new inventory window overrides the old inventory window's location if the old window is closed first.

Solution #1: Add the ability to permanently seperate portions of your inventory into a window with its own shortcut on the neocom. This would allow commonly used inventory locations (cargo-holds, your personal hanger tab, etc) to be opened in smaller (unobtrusive) windows.

Solution #2: Use a drop down menu for inventory locations instead of a sidebar. This would allow players to reduce the footprint of the window without losing functioanlity.

ISSUE: Can't quickly loot containers in space.

SOLUTION: Add a loot all button that works quickly. (edit: Prior to opening up the slow inventory menu system)

NOTE: What I'm talking about is, you're in a frig with a mwd, you've just killed someone, and you need to loot the wreck and warp out before their friends warp in. Before the new UI, this was possible. Now, it's just too slow. For QA people, fit a merlin with a mwd, and make sure you can loot a container going at full speed on the first pass.

Issue: Last I looked, right clicking my Orca no longer gave me access to the various holds.

Solution: Put back the feature that you removed.

Also based on something from a few days ago, ignore if this has been fixed:

Issue: when I dropped several hundred items from a hangar into a station container, it took several minutes to complete and my client became unresponsive for the duration. As best I can tell, it was due to the fact that items were being placed in the container one at a time, and price/volume calculations were being refreshed for the entire container with each item.

Solution: On mass item moves, wait until the entire move is complete before recalcuating market value. That seems to be the factor that has changed since UI came out.

Skill books having "skill - " at the beginning of their group name would be awesome, too. I'd love to sort by group and actually see things properly grouped. And no I don't mean I want to filter...I want to see my whole inventory in one list, properly sorted by groups.

Problem : in ship inventory view: shift double click changes to ship( bad)
FIX: SHift double click on ship opens inventory

Problem : R click carrier etc : no options for drone bay, etc
FIX: R click carrier have option to open main. bay, ship bay, drone bay....

Issue: "Est. price" tends to be inaccurate.
Solution: Make it configurable; for example, I would like to set it to display prices according to buy orders in Jita.

Please Please Roll it back to the old hangars etc, this new system is clumsy, unresponsive and reduces any remote form of quick action. I have been sitting here for the last 20 minutes with the inventory loading and still nothing, this is not the first time, it is like this a lot as the system is trying to load far too much information into one window.

We don't need to have just one window for each hangar / can / ship hold, the old addage if it aint broke don't fix it is something you guys really need to put into place as a company philosophy.

:(

Oh and please get rid of that annoying rectangle of information when you hover over something in a hangar or at least apply a delay so it does not come up straight away, it just obstructs the view of the rest of the hangar contents and does not provide any information of value that is not otherwise displayed in the bottomn right corner if you click on an item.

Problem: No tabs on the corp hangers in the orca which really needs them in space.

Fix: Put the old corp hanger tabs back on the orca corp hanger bays.

  - remove the cloaked from local; free intel is the real problem, not  "afk" cloaking -
