happens to me too. Explosions are a white glow that gets really big then vanishes.
My ship is just a glaring whitish outline of it's self.
etc, etc..

So I encountered this for the first time in a few days, and have the following information:
  • Client logged in around 12:10 EVE time
  • At the time I first noticed the issue, my video card had approximately 732mb of video memory in use.
  • At the time I first noticed the issue, the EVE client was using approximately 1,577 MB of RAM.
  • I had traveled approximately 32 jumps since logging in - I went to work after logging in - and had docked and undocked 4-5 times. These jumps were all within the same region, aside from a quick hop into a wormhole leading to a system in another region and back.

  • Hopefully this helps some. Vid card info and such are on the previous page.

Time of session played = Between 5-6 hours.

Graphic Settings = All High (Resolution 1920x1080)

Card Model = Nvidia Geforce GTX 550 Ti

Graphics Card Tab - Memory Size = 1024

    Sensors Tab - Memory Used = 715

    Resource Caching = Enabled

Typically occurs while opening and closing the map, and/or gate jumping.

I disabled "Resource cache" and it hasn't happened to me since.. Might be chance but I'm not sure.

I think it's chance. I've always had it off and still get the issue. :(

    Hi guys,

    I can confirm this problem.

I've experienced it several times in different computers/totally different configurations:

    Computer 1:

    - Laptop, Windows 7, 4GB RAM, Graphics NVIDIA 9300M

    Computer 2

    - Desktop, Fresh installed Windows 7 only with current updates and EVE installed, 16 GB RAM DDR3, Graphics Card NVIDIA 680 GTX 2GB DDR5

I also can confirm that this happens a few hours in in the game, it never happens during the first hour or two (at least to me).

I restart to the game, resolves this issue.

    Hope it helps, good luck!

    Cheers,

yeah, that's the one. i get it within a few hours of running the client. i'm on an alienware m11x r2 laptop which has a nvidia gt 335m. i will try disabling resource caching but am not optomistic. but yes, glad to hear it's being worked on. :) i've tried various combinations of low to medium graphics settings, bloom and hdr are always disabled, experimented with different shader levels. lots of jumps seems to trigger it sometimes, but not always., also the fitting window has a green background and some ship icons are kind of transparent or low res.

I had all weird issues from FPS dropps starting then the explosions start to mess up like half rings and then other effects messing up like jump bubble, then textures etc.

Fps issues, they come and go, with Vsync i get drops from 60 to 24 ro 30 to 24. Without Vsync i get drops from 120 to 24 and in a pattern shown in the pictures above. Mostly before or after i get the weird texture or effects problem. Only restart client works.

After testifying this problem a few dozen of times I've found out that this problem is always triggered/preceded by a "rat" ship explosion. After this explosion all graphic fx goes berserk (explosion rings, glowing planets and ship, missing textures, white ship, total absence of warp effect).

I strongly believe there is a memory leak in the graphics code. As I'm playing, the more I warp around, the faster the issue happens. I'm getting the same problem as everyone else and could easily generate similar screen shots.

It takes about 3-4 hours and the task manager usually displays between 1.5 and 2GB of ram dedicated to the eve exe.

The only time I've had it fix itself was during one session where my video drivers crashed and restarted (happens once every few months, but usually in other games) without killing the game first. RAM usage was still crazy, though.

I believe you could reproduce this issue in this manner:

    - set up 2 grids with a large number of entities
    - warp back and forth between them
    - dock in a station or jump between systems regularly

Ideally with a smaller or older video card that has much less vram.

It does not explain why I get it since i got 2GB Vram and it never reaches 2GB with two clients. I did have at maximum 1.7GB usage for two eve clients but thats it, and the problem started before.

Also we talking about VRAM not RAM

If you mean the white "cloud effect" randomly found on gates, ships, stations, POSes, etc, instead of the correct texture.......well, that graphical glitch has been around since I started playing 3 years ago.

Hello, I believe I tried to tell you guys about this problem months ago, happy your finally doing something about it...

the earliest I noticed these bugs happening was back in "2012.03.16" thats where my first screenshot is from, it basicly started after the patch just before that... if you want to find the core issue, look into what was changed back then...

on a side note... http://i.imgur.com/LRlax.jpg you should look into this also... don't know if it happens recently anymore... but basicly this happened alot to me when warping to and from mobile warp bubbles... what your seeing is the bubble somehow splattering all over my screen, emitting from the center of my ship...

The bubble effect still explodes onto the screen on TQ atm, for both posses and warp disruption field gens

The white bug also occurred to me on TQ now.

My desktop PC got a RAM upgrade to 8GB now so that's not an issue.

Ive had something similar happen to me on TQ (im not on sisi yet as im waiting for reactivation Roll ) but for me, it happend to the 'cloak' effect, and i think even the 'internal' side of the POS Tower bubble shield effect. My Prowler looked normal when i was uncloaked, but any time i cloaked it suddenly turned bone-white rather than invisible.

http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/7244/bonewhilteprowler.jpg (sorry for the cropped image, but full screenshot had some corp stuff in it XD )

I cleared my cache and reloged and the effect went away. I'll keep an eye out and see if it crops up again in TQ or Sisi (once i can get on the test server again =)
