Alts slowly become indispensible mains over time, does anyone else find?

I'm not sure I'd go as far as saying they're indispensable, but they certainly make life easier. I have two accounts right now, my main (the suave mofo on the left) is a PVPer. He's a horrible pilot though, and completely ignores the #1 rule of EVE, don't fly what you can't afford to lose. So I have an industrialist alt that provides him with ammo, ships and modules.

That said, I do think if you go beyond 2 accounts that it starts to become more like work. After my first or second month in EVE, I got into mining as a source of quick ISK, and realized I could make a lot more if I had more miners supported by an Orca pilot. So I ended up with 4 accounts. After a week or two of industrial-scale mining, I realized how boring it was. I also realized revenue wouldn't scale much past what it was. So I cancelled two accounts.

That said, I do think people should have as many accounts as they want. Who am I to judge how others play the game?

One alt is enough for me, that way I can cover the two areas of "combat" and "mining/industry/trade".

Barb was a bit all over the place in the beginning, but having an alt allows the alt to be more focussed in things that complement the main.

I do wish we could have a one-time respec in EVE though Bear
