Can EVE apps be monetized? To what extent?

I am a programmer by trade and currently unemployed and in school. I have a few ideas for EVE-related apps but have a hard time justifying them in my situation. Is there any kosher way (such as ad-supported + $0.50 ad-free) to pull back time investment on an EVE app?

What about Youtube PVP commentary? Can we upload gameplay videos w/ commentary / TS audio to partnered accounts without worrying about takedowns?

Nothing that directly uses EVE IP can be monetized last I knew. You can do ads, but anything else is out afaik. Will look for the statement.

Well look at the 3rd party sites out there that have been there a while and see what they're doing. Lets see:
EVE Kill Google Ads and a link to Shattered Crystal for GTC purchases.
Battleclinic Google Ads, Deepspace Supply (their own GTC store - smart) and a donate cash button.
Dotlan Maps Google Ads, link to Shattered Crystal, Deepspace Supply and EveTimeCode for GTC purchases plus a Donate Cash / ISK / Amazon Gift button.

Seems to sum up what you can do to make money currently.

Alright, thanks. Pretty much what I'd expected.

That means uploading pvp vids on a partnered YT channel should be kosher too as long as a healthy part of the video is added on after the fact (say, commentary), since that's also Google Ads.
