Mac client freezing while Transmission is running

When Transmission (bittorrent client) is running and actively downloading, it makes the EVE Online mac client freeze randomly, could be anywhere from 1 minute to an hour. When it does, it uses a huge amount of cpu (most of it shows as System in Activity Monitor, as opposed to User).
When Transmission is not running, the EVE client does not freeze at all.
Anyone else see this similair behavior?

I have the exact same issue. I don't even have any torrents running. What?

Anything else using the internet when eve is running, even a browser, increases the chance of a random freeze.

Torrent clients in particular have given EVE heartburn for a long time now. This is not a Mac specific issue, either; torrents freeze the Windows client just as reliably.

"If this was happening on PCs it would get fixed right away!"

I guess that conspiracy theory has been blown out of the water.

Switch to usenet. sab+ and sickbeard :) - totally different download profiling, just as fast and pretty sure you'll still find all your legit downloads as readily available.

1/2 the issues faced are due to the massive tcp connection/drop rates that are incurred via Torrents. used to cause me problems on both my pc and router - in fact i had to restart my router once a week as it used to get screwed up.
