Hello!

I made a video earlier tonight, thought I'd post it here for people who were there and might want to see it, and show their friends :D

Since there are so many vets around maybe you guys could tell me what I did wrong or could improve on since i'm still getting used to super big fights.

Anyhow, it's here.

Cheers,
Jacky o7

Pred looks like he did a good job. Its hard to tell if you did anything wrong without hearing the comms since it is such a big battle.

The only thing I saw (and I love analyzing battles to learn from) is that there was a lot of split fire and not just on the primary. I could tell this by wathcing the targets you locked up, both shields were dropping at the same time.

Pred did a good job calling the bail order

Love watching fight videos involving FW corps, regardless of who. Thanks for the upload!

Although, I kept thinking I was in a fleet while watching and kept trying to say "Guys, why is the Guardian STILL taking damage? Focus on the primary!"

Also, lol at the Skype call in the middle of the fight.

Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?

Battlereport is here.

Most losses to Caldari came when the 2nd cyno bridged in Snuff box t3 fleet there. With links up they could snag too many boats with webs/scrams before we managed to pull range and that was it pretty much it.

Personally I had massively underestimated amount of ammo I needed so my Talos ran out of Null L at about half-way of the fight so some of the split fire might be that Lol

Yea, unfortuatly I forgot to record voice, and I was to busy once the fight started to tinker with the recording stuff :x it's a shame since the fleet comms were awesome. Only FC and logi / ECM were talking, calling targets and jams. Very disciplined.

About halfway through the fight the FC made us time our volleys. Even though we did we couldnt break their tanks. We may have gotten lucky if Snuff didnt show up. :D

Yea I need to get used to having so many targets locked and switching between them. Normaly my fights are over in under 3-4 mins and I never need to unlock a target lol.

And I am happy I bought 2,000 haevy missles to the fight (I thought we were killing a PvE target lol).

Looked like a fun fight, far as your question about anything to help you improve.

1) Shoot scourge in a Drake. Big smile (granted I dunno what your ammo situation was at the time)

Most of the time if you are in a fleet it's much better to shoot scourge than EM, because scourge is the bonused ammo for the Drake. Even vs Drakes most people use a EM rig, which means the bonused scourge will do more damage even though you are shooting at the highest resist.

If the Drake has no EM rig, then the EM ammo will do better, but in a fleet fight it's better to just stick to your bonused ammo. With that fight there were 3 Chimera's which one might assume would lead to a shield fleet, but the guardians kinda gave away the rest of the gang was armor tanked. This means by shooting EM ammo you were shooting at their average highest resist with un-bonused ammo.

2) This is more for the entire gang, rather than just your self, but "ALWAYS" stay moving.

This prevents what happened in the end of the fight with Snuff being able to cyno in right on top of your location. Even just passively aligned with MWD's off, it's hard for a cloaky with enough grid for a cyno to get right on top of you. (a cvt op could still catch you but very unlikely a Arazu would have the speed cloaked to get right on top of you)

3) Going back to the always stay moving.

When you guys bailed and landed at the Sun.. Always click on "anything" and get aligned/moving again and burn your MWD to get distance, while you are figuring out where you need to regroup.. When you are in the run mode, you have to be ready to bounce to a new location the second you land in case they send fast tackle to catch you.

Always align to something and start moving the second you land if you are not on a gate or station. Even in a fight I tend to pick my alignments via things I can easily make a small correction on to be-able to warp to it. (never just aligned to no where)

Anyway looks like you had fun and the switching target stuff will get easier as you get more experience

Just wanted to add that if you learn by the quality of your opponants then you picked a good one, SNUFF know their **** when it comes to pvp. Had a nice fight with them ourselves down Vifrevaert/Ladistier way on monday night.

First mistake was not to ungroup your guns and shoot 1 missile to each enemy.. that's what every good PVPer does.. or it seems like in the blobs I have been in, gotta get on the KM..... Twisted
Just messing by the way.
I am not an FC, but I do prefer to be FC'd by FC's who broadcast targets, that way everyone shoots the same target. You can change your fleet history to not show logi requests if you DPS, that way FC broadcasts are easy to pickup. Also noticed you, ,and maybe the whole fleet, only anchored up later in the fight. I have found if you don't anchor up, I always anchor on the FC(keep at range) unless told not to, that way at least you always in range of the targets the fc calls and keeps the fleet moving. That way if the fleet needs to gtfo, the FC can align somewhere and warp the whole fleet out at the same time. This helps a lot when there are new fleet members who are just so excited to be shooting stuff they barely get the fc calls, erm.. like me Sad
I am also new to fleet fights, well pvp in genral, so these are my observation from what I have experienced, so don't take them to bee too critical...

EDIT-- not always a good idea to always just use scourge.. some smart FC's will see a drake fleet coming and will ask the fleet to change tank accordingly...

Thanks for all the feedback guys :D. Yea I had a buncha Scourge in my cargo, im trying to ween myself off EM ammo at the moment lol. I didnt ve realise the bonus' of the Drake. Pretty dumb of me not to lol. I'll try and remember gaurdians mean armour, them being amarr ships and all I should have figured.

We were anchored since the start of the fight, I was keeping range at 1,000 from FC. The FC stopped moving at a point during the fight but calls were getting very technical and he had to time volleys before ordering switching primaries so I can see why he'd get distracted. He apologised for not moving after the fight was over.

I prefer to hear the FC call Primary so I'm glad I didnt have to use the broadcast history. I used it in a fleet once and couldnt target ****, I dunno why .. just easier to hear orders than read em for me personally. Thanks for letting me know about turning off logi-broadcasts, didnt think about that. Same goes for warping also, I prefer to warp myself rather than take a wing warp. Taking control away from my ship makes me nervous lol.

I am uncertain how to deal with alignment and anchoring together. When you anchor do you just not bother aligning? In fights I normaly keep myself aligned to something but when using the FC anchor I desided I'd align to whatever he was aligned to lol.

And after we warped out I hung around since I figured the enemy fleet wouldnt warp at 70km, just encase the situation changed and the FC needed me back in the fight for some reason. I don't really know how these fights go so wanted to be ready to back fleet mates up. Once I saw people warping to gate and heard we were all off-field I warped to gate.
