For all the people that don't under stand how plex works.

Some time ago when Nex was introduced CCP said they were going to keep an eye on the market to try and maintain the price of plex at an affordable level for those using it to pay for their gametime due to people hoarding plex in preparation for aurum conversion.

The only conclusion I can draw from that is that CCP has or is prepared to seed the market with plex.

Well that could also mean that they sell cheaper plex like they are doing now with the bulk offer.

It's somewhat difficult to really gauge the effect of PLEX compared to paying for the game outright. If PLEXES were to fall to a super low price. Then people who use them for game time would be saving actual RL money compared to someone that paid the 15 bucks every month.

Let's say PLEX sales fell to 170Mil isk (not gonna happen I know) then technically I'm paying half the price as a subscriber. Since one PLEX equals one month playing time valued at 15USD. I'd be "paying" 7.50 USD instead.

This is not including the person who actually purchased the PLEX and brought it in game for me to grab off market.

Time is Money. So those who think using the argument "oh at least they aren't getting MY money" is still a flawed logic.

You're funny.

But be careful, on the robot planet you'd not survive for half a day with that kind of logic.

I think the point is, we don't give a toss WHO pays for it, as long as it is not us :)

You may have noticed that CCP had a "buy 13 PLEX for $X" offer recently. That's their attempt at restoring PLEX prices to the level that they're aiming for. So not seeding the market, just making PLEX cheaper in bulk.

No. The point is CCP isn't a charity game studio nor he points anyone with a gun to make him buy PLEX. Someone buys PLEX because he wants to save time which allows someone who wants to save money to play for free. It's a win-win situation, unless your against PLEX as a RMT item but that's not what's being discussed here. It's frankly quite pompous to judge what anyone does with his money.

"Someone else paid for it" argument's flaw is compounded by the intrinsic nature of the capitalist society where you live. You got free TV because sponsors paid for it because they realized that advertisements boost their sales because people tend to buy the one drink announced in TV. Free TV isn't free then? Someone paid to make it happen, someone paid to maintain it but it's free to you.

I guess you missed the "we don't give a toss" part.

I play free, I pay no money, somebody else does, if you don't want ME to play free, which I do, stop buying PLEX and putting it into the game.

Simple enough for simpletons, I don't give a rats how much and who pays CCP, as long as I DO NOT.

And the ideology for the 'Free to Play' MMO module was born.

So let Eve go FREE to play..

Who cares, because basically (some) people are paying ABOVE PREMIUM RATES for a SUB PREMIUM Title.

And they expect you to pay MORE.

I see no compelling reason to pay "new" money into eve, especially when I personally am hit with a recession and Eve is a LUXURY I can live without.

Grinding for isk is pointless. Better to get a 2nd job, grind for $$$$ and then buy PLEX and beer. :)

Both are crap and should never have been added. People can have academic debates on whether its MT or not - the reality is, out of game wealth becomes in-game wealth - and that is game breaking.

But of course that cash-cow will be surrendered despite an apology that clearly missed the point of where CCP started to go down the wrong path.

I would argue it started just around where Wt0 was implemented - awhile ago - but that was the start.
