For those of you interested in the doings of the CSM, I've thrown together a pair of lengthy blogs detailing what I can about our recent visit to Iceland. We are currently working on the official minutes and are hoping to have them done and ready for release by the end of the month. Once we have a firm release date in sight, I will announce a date for our second 'Town Hall' meeting so the community can ask us a bit more about the summit and whatever else is on your minds. In the meantime this pair of blogs should hopefully answer some questions while we work on the more detailed stuff:

Part I

Part II

2004-2008: Mercenary Coalition Boss

2007-2010: CCP Game Designer | 2011-2013: CSM6 Delegate & CSM7 Chairman

2011-2015: Pandemic Legionnaire

2015- : Mercenary Coalition Boss

Thanks for the post. This made me very pleased "We saw several finished V3 versions of the Minmatar ships which should be out soon", autocannons and the new rifter, I am a happy chap.

I sense bitter, jealous resentment.

Thank you for your efforts Seleene. This seems to be one of the best and most productive CSMs in a while. ♥

...and the State of Incarna...? Read it and all I got from what you wrote was - nothing. So seriously, what is the "state of Incarna"?

don't confuse my disdain for useless expenditures with bitterness.
I read the blog and there was nothing in there that requires a group of "chosen ones" to relay to the customer base.

The CSM has become a joke, and a bad one at that.
I love that you want to be a part of something important, but the sad fact is you're paid patsies, a puppet government used for PR, you get wined and dined and sit around watching CCP work and then relay less information (due to NDAs and other legal poop) than the average Dev puts in a blog post.

you are bloat, plain and simple.

CCP Unifex should be putting out a blog in the next couple weeks about some of the stuff we discussed. Part of our meeting on Incarna was about what would or wouldn't be a good idea and how to best present it all. This is progress considering last year's train wreck.

Thank you for this update.

Will edit later if I need to add some useless comment after reviewing the material.

Edit1:
Part 1 wrote:
The overriding theme of these discussions was that CCP does not want to half-ass anything. They very much want to take each problem and solve it properly and completely. That does not mean they are going to let 'broken' things sit completely untouched but they do want to make sure any large scale changes are done properly and with plenty of community feedback beforehand.

Not sure if CCP is serious abut this one. The UI should have not been released with such poor testing.

The truth is somewhere in the middle, while CSM most definitely is an investment from CCP with an expected return profit they (CSM) are also gaining vital information on how CCP works. The players elected them, and the CSM state what their opinions are, and reflect to the community what they can. Naturally there is a pressure on the CSM to act civil and to be "diplomatic", but they are also able to state the hard facts to CCP.

The CSM however is not what some people seem to think they are, a direct link between the players and the actions of CCP. CCP appreciates the input (otherwise they do not have a business, which was a hard learned, but still learned lesson). The influence over CCP decisions is overstated but still present. I think that when the community says "NO" with a loud and united voice they (CCP) have to listen.

The individual or smaller groups of individuals however have no bearing on anything, even if they voted. Just like in real life politics.

Ronald Reagan: I do not like Sweden, they support communism. Minister: Sir, but Sweden are anti-communist, Sir.  Ronald Reagan: I do not care what kind of communists they are.

Nice write ups.

Posting on this character because apparently some people get upset when they're asked difficult questions. M.
