No. What makes you think that? Just because there are botters in the game does not mean they aren't logging the information.

A) any invasive DRM is bad. rootkits are bad because they are invasive too. I don't like stuff I can't control in my computer. do you?

B) it's a false positive. get a better AV, like avast.

That's like saying matches are bad because they burn down forests. Don't confuse the tool with the intention. It just sounds bad because they got a lot of coverage from virus writers abusing them.

Matches are selective and go out after only a few seconds.

Rootkits are more like a pill of Chlorine triflouride.

Once you start them going, they don't go out without amazing amounts of hassle.

But thats not even the main problem. The main problem is that rootkits, by their very nature, are covert. There are ways to run things with elevated privileges that DO NOT require hiding the fact that it is being done from the user. If you have to hide it, I don't want it done on my PC.

My PC does what I tell it to do, and nothing else.

My AV has already found rootkits in other MMO games that other AV software miss. Tech support at those respective companies confirmed the use of rootkits.

You got anything to actually back that up because it is a outlandish claim that all other AV out there is unable to detect rootkits except yours, which just makes your posts sound like a product advert.

Also which MMOs were these? I know Blizzard uses Warden but I am unsure of which others.

so your AV found rootkits that no other AV in the market found?

surely that sounds more and more like false positives.

You never hid a porn magazine under your bed i guess,
because if you have to hide it from your mother, it's probably bad, right ?

You're either just trying to justify your opinion,
or ... i don't know ... "can be" doesn't say anything except
that there's a possibility that things could happen.

Like, there's the possibility that all oxygen in your room suddenly moves to one spot ...
... a spot where you aren't at ... and you'll die a horrible, slow death ...
... now, will you wear an oxygen tank all the time just to be safe ?

You can get hit by a falling brick when you leave your house.

Masturbation can make you blind. (love this one... lol)

Next time you use a knife to cut something open,
remember me and this post ... (and the possibility that you're not paying enough attention)
and suddenly ram the knife right into your stomach,
while nobody is around to hear you scream ...

... and you can see your blood pumping out of your body ...
... flooding the floor, wave after wave, red everywhere ...
... and die a horrible death with lots of pain and agony.

Congratulations.

I redowloaded EVE client installation package and re-checked executables and dynamic library files (packed in bin.zip file without directx).
Virustotal reports:
Logserver.exe
Exefile.exe
bin.zip (files from \bin directory)

All clean

Conclusion: OP, please drop tinfoil hat that you wearing and start using your brain before you post.

It's perfectly ok for your landlord to install exhaustive surveillance equipment throughout your house as all he wants is to make sure house rules are obliged and to ensure security of the premises, both against external threats like burglars and internal threats like abusive/criminal tenants or accidents.

Of course the tenant has no say when or how much information is gathered, how long it will be stored and how it will be used. It's all in the tenancy agreement. Privacy is for terrorists and other anti-society forces.

Who in their right mind would sign that rental agreement? You must be way, way, way on the "right" with some troll **** like that.

Plus I don't need Uncle Sam holding my hand while I'm lighting up this marijuana blunt. I got this one Sammy! No need for the knocks at my door sporting butane lighters..

Hello,

I just heard back from our security team. It is indeed a false positive; however, the antivirus developers have said that they need their customers to contact them in order to make changes to their virus database. Therefore, it seems that the best bet is to contact them directly.

29 million, but hey that's close enough.

Unless of course you meant the people that work with it and not just desktop users, then its a lot more.

But still close enough.
