Does posting in the assembly hall still have any value as far as you are concerned?

If so, please quantify that value.

TBH, it's actually something we're going to discuss at the summit. ATM it does seem to be the step-child of the forums.

Well, it suffers from the same verbal diarrhea clutterness as "Features & Ideas".

This issue resembles the one that publishers used to have with original manuscripts; too many verbosity to actually read all of it, which was dealt with specialyzed "review readers" who just gave a go/no go in several steps until few selected originals made it to the top for actual publishing review.

This kind of review process is both uncool and un-internetish, and of course is very intensive on the use of Human Intelligence.

Also, as somone put it, "Your customers are to be heard, but only your investors must be listened..."Twisted

Human nature, I'm sure there's a patch in the works to fix it.

People will always post on an issue without having read up on the topic or even the OP a lot of the time.

I find a lot of replies to things I write where people haven't even read my post through to the end before flying off at the handle. They then make the exact same points I make at the end of my original post.

If CCP can patch this it would be great ;)

To be serious though, I find the threads completely frustrating on one hand because these things have been brought up time and again in their respective forums. If people on the CSM aren't familiar by now with the ideas for Modular POS's or Making Mining Worthwhile again, or Industry Papercuts threads - then they probably got voted in erroneously, hopefully there's another patch in the works for this as well.

On the other hand, not everyone can always be up to date on everything. But I'm sure there's better ways of fixing that than the few posts they might get in a few weeks of these threads. Just looking down the list, the threads seem rather small considering how big the issues are and how many people post daily in eve-o. I'd say most people don't even see them. Therefore again, better off checking the distinct forums for the issues.

Here you're just more likely to get people like me, Malcanis and other "political types" who come here to raise issues and ideas we want brought up even though we might never be on CSM - in the respective forums/threads for the issues you'll find all the non-political types and their ideas far more.

What might be best is a list of relevant threads on particular issues you all want to talk about and CSM members should read them.

I personally am of the belief that we should roll the Assembly Hall threads into the Features and Ideas discussion of the forums, as they are essentially the same thing.

Historically, Assembly Hall proposals were used as part of a voting process that essentially just hoisted those issues onto an extensive official backlog, which is only now beginning to erode away after some of the features released in Crucible and Inferno.

Given the fact that we can talk to CCP year round now, there is no longer the pressure to have only a selective list of items to discuss at a summit, we can discuss anything with CCP and get a more immediate sense of whether it can be addressed in the near future.

I'd much rather have a central forum location to propose new features and ideas, as well as a separate forum section for issues and feedback, rather than the Assembly Hall which becomes this mushy mix of both.

Given the much more open communication we have with CCP today, I see no practical benefit to continuing an archaic system of logging issues onto a list which may or may not be addressed by CCP any time soon. I'd prefer to have more focused and organized forum feedback than to have players posting [Proposals] thinking that using brackets assigns some sort of officiality that no longer exists.

This is just my opinion given my experience so far, like Seleene said it'll certainly be something we discuss with CCP at the summit. We're long overdue for updating and streamlining this process and giving players a clear understanding of how to get involved and be useful.

Well that is actually true... a few times people have completely ruined threads because they didn't read the entire post to see that I totally turned the logic I started in the first paragraph or two completely around by the end of it, and totally made the point that they ineptly rage about thereafter ;)

I'm just keepin' it real brother :)

Would it be too NDA-breaking to give us a hint or two?

Posting on this character because apparently some people get upset when they're asked difficult questions. M.

As you point out, F&I is a logical source for new ideas; with CCP's far more active communication channels, the EVE Information Portal now has plenty of feedback.

I'm sure they'll patch the signal/noise ratio as soon as they find a way to. Pirate

i was going to say that assembly hall is kinda obselete...

ccp seems to have bipassed it by doing thier own croudsourcing plus you guys have your own priorites which are repsentative of your electorate (me included) so personally i dont see a real use for it anymore...

Can the CSM confirm that the question was addressed and that the minutes contain the discussion?
