Hello, I have a few ideas for security Missions that I'll quickly pitch to you guys :) Keep in mind, these would all be level 4 missions, except for the last one which may be level 3 or 4.

As time goes by I may add in a few more, so stay posted.

Escort

Support a friendly NPC fleet of transport ships that must fly from point A to point B, all while being attacked by waves enemy ships that are warping into the mission area. The missions completes when at least one(1) transport reaches it's destination. The transport ships would have a small NPC escort that will stay near the transports and defend them, such as a few frigates or a cruiser or two or three. The transport ships should be able to repair their own shields/armor, depending on their race, but you would also be able to remote repair them yourself. If all of the transports die, this mission is failed and you can try again after DT when everything resets :) This mission would be offered rarely (a little more rarely than the Angel's Extravaganza mission) and would offer good/high rewards. Also, the bonus for this mission would not be a time bonus, but instead a bonus for how many transports make it to their destination alive.

Defend a Base*This mission would be very difficult and should be attempted by a fleet of capsuleers*

You must aid/defend a base that is under attack from increasingly difficult waves of enemies. The waves would contain very high amounts of enemies that would both concentrate on attacking the base and the players. The Base would have 4 gun turrets that would help in defending the base, but these turrets should not be very strong (DPS or Tank). The base would be able to remotely repaired. The mission is flagged complete once "x" amount of waves of enemies have been eliminated. If the base is destroyed, then you have failed the mission and you can try again after DT (like with the escort mission). The rewards on this mission would be substantial/ VERY high, but this mission should be extremely rare.

Attack a Base*This mission would be very difficult and should be attempted by a fleet of capsuleers*
(Added June 11th, 2012)

This would simply be the opposite of the "Defend a Base" mission, but just a little different. You would have to assault and destroy an enemy base that is heavily guarded by 6-8 turrets/missile turrets and many waves of enemies that would "undock" (spawn near the base) and warp in to the mission area. These waves would be very tough, consisting of numerous battleships, battlecruisers, cruisers, elite frigates, and normal frigates.

Covert Operations(Added June 11th, 2012)

This mission may be a little easier if attempted by a covert fleet
In this mission, you must fly a ship fitted with a cloaking device and fly through a few pockets (using acceleration gates along the way). Once you reach the final pocket you must either eliminate a named ship, most likely a cruiser/battlecruiser, or destroy some type of installation. If you choose not to use a cloaking device/you get caught along the way, you must then either reach the last pocket or kill every ship in the pocket you are currently in before any enemies can send a signal to the named ship and he will fly away (So about 1-2 minutes). In the last pocket there is an acceleration gate heading back to the first pocket just incase you want to kill all the other ships once you have killed the named ship. If you fail the mission by being discovered and not killing the named ship in time, you may try again after the next DT. This mission would have rather high rewards and would be rare.

Ambush - Ship size restriction

There should be a choice for if the mission holder wants to do this mission with an NPC fleet or with a player-fleet.
This could also be a lvl 3 mission

NPC Fleet

Only Battlecruiser-size ships (Level 4)
Only Cruiser-size ships (Level 3)

In this mission, you and a friendly fleet of NPC frigates, a few destroyers, cruisers, 2 Battlecruisers, and 1 Battleship. The player and this fleet would warp to a location (the player would use a warp gate). Once in the mission area, the player and the fleet would then wait for about 20-30 seconds for the enemy fleet to warp to that position and catch them by surprise. The enemy fleet would be large and consist of 2-3 Battleships and numerous other ships. Although, there would fewer enemy ships, and MAYBE a battleship on both sides for the Level 3 mission. The destruction of the enemy fleet would flag the mission complete.

Player-Fleet

Same ship-size requirements as the NPC fleet, and same plotline. There is no NPC fleet and the players would use a warp gate.

Well, those are my ideas. These ideas/suggestions are meant to make missions a little more team-oriented. Please feel free to post you thoughts on this :)

Thank you for your time.

While I like the Idea, The problem will be getting this kind of stuff to CCP to implement. Missions and complexes DESPARATELY NEED a revamp but Im not shure if its on CCP's to-do list at the moment, unless a dev wants to prove me wrong.

all in all its a good idea. I would like to add a Base attack mission, were you warp right into the middile of a heavily deffended fortress that you must destroy.

Rather than have it as a mission draw, make it like an Incursion site. It spawns somewhere, you go put a fleet together and run the site, once it's run it despawns and respawns somewhere else. Defend outpost from Gueristas/Mordus/Sanshas/etc. Fleet payout if the outpost survives, with a payout graph scaled to number of ships.

I would like to see missions ("intelligence" missions?) oriented towards recons and SBs. Maneuver around several protecting guard ships to get to a 2nd gate, in the 2nd room you need to approach the target w/o being decloaked. As soon as you uncloak target tries to align and warp out, so you need to point it and kill it. Take too long and reinforcements show up.

SB specific mission where you need to bomb the target, which is surrounded by hostile vessels. Uncloak, bomb, warp out before guards point and kill you.

Yes! I was going to have that be a covert operations mission but I wasn't sure if anyone else would like it :P I'll add that one in soon.

And I like the Base attack mission idea as well :)

Yes, I totally agree, missions and complexes do need a bit of a revamp.

CCP dev's! Please take a look at these missions! Big smile

What! I don't think anyone would have fun with these types of missions. Cool

You mean no more cookie cutter missions that I can look up on Eve survival or some other website? I would actually have to pay attention to finish a site?

This is a terrible idea... CCP could boost their content, encourage player interaction, AND make it harder for botting at the same time. Who is that careful with their resources in corporate Iceland today??? They would have to put themselves on the cutting edge of MMO game creation.

Just remember kids, it's easier to tear down a good idea than it is to actually put some thought into how to make a good game better. Don't be a Beck.
