Flashies vs. Faction Navies?

I've been looking into the -10 lifestyle in hisec and had a question about faction navies. As I understand it, faction navies start chasing you once your sec status drops to the appropriate level. From what I read, you have about 6 seconds from the time you board a ship until the faction navy shows up. What is it that shows up? A huge fleet? A couple of ships? Is it possible to tank or kill them? Does the size of the response change with the number of flashies on grid? Any advice/tips?

thanks

I get them bugging me in .7 systems and above. I usually get one or two frigs a cruiser and a bs - but I think it is dependent on the systems sec rating as to how tough they are and what shows up. TBH - I try not to hang around long enough to count em all.

There are better ships that a frigate to test it out with.

Concord gives you about 15 seconds before they scram you, if you can warp off to something safe, it is possible to bounce around and survive, but don't try this in anything bigger than a cruiser. If your not flashy, but involved in FW, the Navy of your opposing faction gives you FAR more time to play around. I have a corpmate who is fond of jumping a hurricane into FW highsec, and popping WT frigs/dessies hiding in highsec on the other side, and still having enough time to escape from the navy. Being flashy keeps me out of that sort of fun Cry

Not Concord. Faction Navies. Concord will kill you every time, but they only show up if you're GCC in HS. (or an Outlaw in Concord Sov).
