It would be interesting if you could do something with the corpses. Some ideas:

Recover implants
Recover/gain skill point (or maybe reallocate SPs)
Recover clothes
Gain kill rights on individual when corpse is in cargo
trade in corpse to corporations for LPs (one they are negative standing with)
Actually have to trade in the corpse for the ransom.
Gain speed in locating their corp mates with locator agents (but maybe have a probability of the corpse falling apart)

Oh I just took it as a given. Maybe holding a severed head in your ingame portrait! Or maybe as the one gifting us this thread might prefer, planting a big one on a cheek.

I hope CCP implements biological self destruction if this goes live. I won't have you have my female corp mates. NEVVAAAA!

Btw another thing I that came to mind about displaying corpses was this gruesome medieval thing they did back in the days. Hanging corpses outside a village or hideout to send a message. If you trespass beyond this mark your corps will be added to the collection for display at our stargate. But of course this would have to be special scripted not to decloak anyone.
I for one would probably slightly poo myself If I found myself suddenly appear at a stargate surrounded with corpses all floating about and the local was full with reds. I might even press that self biological destruction button.
