Just finished 14 days trial and upgraded to 1 month subscription.

And the first day on subscription account (on my alt char), I got ransomed in high level sec (0.9), luckily, I managed to blow up the offender and escaped Lol.

It happen like this, I was transporting drones from my old base to my new operation base when I got a invitation to a corp with 0% tax, so I joined them. Next they asked me to help with their mining op fleet on which I warp to their destination. On arrival, I was warp jammed and scanned, then they asked me 5 million for ransom (my alt is flying a Amarr Drone boat), I pay him 5 million, then he ask more.

But this time, I decide to unleash the cargo which happens to be dozens of drones (4 at a time) to him and blew him up, then I warped out to safety on which I was promptly kicked out from their corp.

My question is, why didn't Concord responded with the attack, also I didn't get the kill mail, so I assumed the offender self destructed.

Also, is this pretty common, inviting some newbie to a corp then ransoming?
There goes my trust with fellow pilots, from here now on, I will refuse any fleet/corp invitation, and will answer with gun first.

That's all.

Unfortunately, any and all corp mates can freely shoot each other without CONCORD intervention.

What was the corp? I feel a dec about to hit ;)

_It's very simple, really. If you see Tengus on scan, they are ratting. If you see a shitload of Tengus, the Russians are blobbing. If you see Proteuses on scan, they will be on top of you in about a second. If you see a shitload of Proteuses, the big boys are having a goodfight. _

Hello Malechium Legacy,

Corporation members are allowed to freely attack each other without Concord showing up. It's one of those things where even if they invite you make sure they aren't trouble makers.

See https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=topics&f=265 the recruitment center for corporations/alliances and check those out.

I hope this helped.

I guess you learned the lesson.

Just don't join a corp that advertises in local, leaves anchored cans in .7 and below, sends mails to everyone in the noob starter systems, has an alt in NPC corp advertising for a corp, offering buddy invites if you join ... missed anything?

It only takes 30mins and 1.5mil ISK to form a corp, but that doesn't make someone competent to run a corp.

Since you didn't whine or rage about it, I've sent you 10m ISK as compensation for your loss. Check your wallet.

Good job on blowing him up! That attitude will get you far in EVE.

Best of luck and enjoy the game. Keep looking for a corp. Most corps help their new members, Don't be discouraged, corps recruiting new players to ransom them is rare in my experience.

I've got to say, the outcome of your story, aside from the 5mil, is pretty darn good. You fought back and won. Excellent!

When looking to join a corp, try looking it up on the killboards.

If you see a bunch of corp on corp kills, then they're probably no good. Better luck next time Smile

Don't let this experience sour you on all corps forever. As you have found out, trust is a rare commodity in EVE, but that's what makes it so precious. There is no ship, module or skill remotely as useful as another player you can trust.

Posting on this character because apparently some people get upset when they're asked difficult questions. M.

Pretty rare as it will end up on public killboards. It's not the very best idea to tell the general public that you are not trustworthy.

I think women across Black Rise and some men would sleep with you for your awesomeness.

Well to be fair we do a lot of 1v1s in Blue Republic. Not me though because I really suck at PvP Bear

True, but also bear in mind that some corps have intra-corp PVP competitions. What could look like griefing kills are really just corp members consensually blowing each other up! Smile

It also happens when testing new ships against each other while surfing the forums... Oops

Proper corps use sisi for that. doesn't screw up their killboards and make them look like noobs.

To be fair, using a Killboard in the first place makes you look like noobs regardless. Not that I don't appreciate free intel on people's movements, resources, and equipment that I can retrieve faster than looking up a job applicant on Facebook, but c'mon, man, an entire corp deciding to make half my job trivial is just sad.
