New player here and I have a dilema. I have just started playing the game and was invited to a corp. When I talked to them they said I would have to move out to there station which is in what everyone calls null sec. I did my research and that is an unsafe area of the game so I did not accept the invite. After I told them why I wasnt joining they then started calling me all sorts of bad names including carebear, rookie, noob which I just ignored afterall sticks and stones.

So I decided to ask questions in the help chat box which ended almost the same way with name calling and others telling me you have to play in dangerous areas of this game or your not really playing the game. So now I realize I have to go out to null sec but I tried that and was instanly blown up in my rookie ship. I didnt realize I would end up back at the same station i began at, which really sucks but hey I have a free ship. Do you always get your ship replaced when you die? After telling others what happened they all told me I have to stay in the beginner area untill my skills are high enough. So I finished the turorials which were confusing but did give me some skills. I really have no idea what to do next except agent missions and exploration since I am almost broke and dont really want to mine or manufacture anything.

My Dilema........Should I accept the corp invite and try to play in the dangerous areas or continue to run missions and watch my skills slowly finish. In my opinion from a new palyer standpooint this game would take years upon years to even come close to competing with established players not just in skills but financially. :( I just learned that you only get the new player ship back when you die that doesnt sound fun at all. I have to say I may not be playing this game any longer as I made 200k off mission items which wont even pay for the new cannons I trained for. Im sorry this game looks awesome but the player base looks like a bunch of assholes especially on these forums. How did this game survive and correct me if im wrong for 8 years with a player base who lies steals, cheats and berates new players? I gave this game an honest try and would love to devote more than a month to it but If a new player cant expect to compete with older players within a couple of years dont you think they would have fixed this so we could.

My friend who invited me to this game told me I could compete with them in under 2 years yet he doesnt leave the safe areas so I called him a carebear and told him I need to find something fun in this game to do or im quiting. So he invited me to join his group which is called fleeting and we then flew all around some beautiful solar systems which he said was fun. Yes that was fun for the first 20 mins then I asked him can we shoot something. hell yeah he said you can shoot anything which I did and was promptly killed by some fast space ships. He then told me I couldnt shoot anything in the safe areas because you will be killed by the police. Well now my friend is a liar so I dont trust him anymore.

Some direction in this game is needed or I like many others I would assume will just cancel my account. PS What does your montly fee pay for in this game, access to a server only is what im noticing and nothing else I guess.

Somebody said they give out special itmes every once in awhile and now I found another reason to hate my friend I guess he made half a billion credits off my refer a friend thing wish i had some of that money maybe i would stay longer.

On a side note I was told to go make some money well thats fine and all but it seems like making money in this game is a full timejob considering everything in this game costs a fortune and I am making crap on these missions. Honestly If i wanted to budget and balance my checkbook I can that online for free at my bank I dont want to do that in a video game. Seriously if you want to play a game with realistic economy go play the stock market atleast its real with real returns and real loses.

I thought a game was suppose to be fun this is more misery than anything. this game is so realistic that I would rather go play real life than eve atleast you get laid in real life but you still have to pay your bills.

EVE subscription- $15.00 a month = $180.00

Ounce of Mango Kush $200.00 hmm let me think about this one yeah the kush sounds better.

sorry you ran into a bunch of assholes but not everyone is one. Here are some random thoughts based on what you wrote.

the only ships you get replaced are rookie ships. Every time you get podded, you get one for free.

Eve is a game you can do whatever you want to with. You can stay in high-sec and play or you can move to null -sec. I moved to null-sec after playing for about a week. The best thing for you is to find a good corporation that is willing to train new players. Search out the recruitment section for corporations like this

What are bots and how do you use them. Someone said if you want to make money in EVE you have to use them but first you have to setup a VPN which I have no idea what that is.

Don't use bots, they are not allowed and will get you banned from the game.

Also, whoever said that you need a bot was an idiot.

You can also join EVE University, it is a corp that helps new players.
Here is a link EVE University
additional link EVE University

And always remember, you can be competitive also if you have just played for 3 weeks.

If you find any misspelling or grammar errors, your allowed to keep them.

What are they and why would they ban you for using them? My understanding was that anything goes in this game you can scam people, steal from players and son why are these bots a banneable offense if everything else is tolerated?

A bot is basically an external application that will play EVE for you. Using them is one of the very few things that will get you banned.

The reason using bots will get you banned is it violates the EULA.

Always willing to help all you have to do is ask, though if you're in the other fleet I may not help the way you want. Just a heads up. Pub Channel: Lost Souls Trading Post

Well that is stupid why would i want something to play the game for me so I could pay to not play this game okay that answers that question.

So my buddy says just ask for money in game and on these forums so here it goes Please give this rookie pilot some money so I can continue to be blown up by you veterans of eve. If you look at it, all your doing is paying yourselves because you get the entertainemnt of blowing me up because im not going to pay to be blown up anymore. I know a hell of alot more games that entertain me for the same price.

I suggest you go play those other games then. If you aren't willing to learn EVE then don't try to play it.

Nobody will give you money with that attitude.

If you trained some of the basic skills, say for example so that you can fly and fit a frigate properly.
Then you can own some of those pilotes that have rushed for a cruiser and think they can fly one
properly just because they can now sit in one.

And don't go to low sec allone, as a newbie you are an easy target for some pirates.
Try to form a fleet with some other newbies and then go to low sec and try your luck.

And also at the beginning you have nothing to lose the clones and frigs are cheap.

If you find any misspelling or grammar errors, your allowed to keep them.

Bots are bad. End of story on that.

As far as making ISK, I completely understand your dilemma as I was once a new player, too (just like everyone else). Let me point you to this guide to help you get aquainted with the idea of making ISK. I also want to point you towards this guide, which is the New Players introduction. Both have very solid introductions to the game.

Whoever told you that you have to leave the policed area, known as High Security Space or Hi-Sec, they were total idiots. Yes, you can amke a fortune in Lawless Space known as Null-Sec, but there is PLENTY to do in highsec that will keep you entertained for years. I look at it this way; Nullsec is for politicians and socially disfunctional individuals or those who can log 40+ hours a week (note the sarcasm and exaggeration), while highsec is for casual players that may log in for a few hours a week due to things like work, school, etc.

For starters, I always recommend that people start taking pops at Level 1, or L1, missions. Here is a good guide to get you started with how to find those missions. Give Security missions a try, as they offer a good influx of action and reaction and, once you get comfortable and start salvaging, can make half-way decent ISK as you climb up from L1 to L2, 3, and eventually L4 missions.

There's nothing wrong with trying things like mining or exploration, either, though mining CAN be more boring (I use to run three accounts, two hulks and an orca). It might be worth your while to check out ISK The Guide for a more complete introductory guide on all things EVE.

If you EVER have any questions, do not hesitate to send me a message. Myself and many others on here aren't actually trolls and do try our best to help new players. It's the new guys that keep the game going, and we need moar of yins to come onboard :D Once you feel comfortable and want to look for a corp, I can help you find a good reputable new-player friendly corp or you can join mine if you want to learn more about shooting other people. In any case, don't hesitate to send me EVEMails with any questions you may have.

Good luck, fellow capsuleer o7

_It's very simple, really. If you see Tengus on scan, they are ratting. If you see a shitload of Tengus, the Russians are blobbing. If you see Proteuses on scan, they will be on top of you in about a second. If you see a shitload of Proteuses, the big boys are having a goodfight. _

Generally speaking, stay in high-sec until you've completed all of the training missions and the Sisters of Eve epic arc. At the end of that arc, you should be familiar with how the basic mechanical systems work and be sitting on enough isk to be self-sufficient for a while.

After that, move where you want, but be aware that the lower the sec status of the place you move, the more work will be required to be self sufficient. My recommendation given your "tossed in the deep end without floaties" tone is that you should live in high sec for a few months and only day-trip into low sec for PvP (and stay away from null and w-space altogether).

Other things it's important to know:

1- You can ignore people, either from the right-click context menu or from the mail interface, so that they can't message you. If they're bothering you in local, just don't read local.

2- Don't join a corp that contains people you find rude or offensive. Liking your mates is fairly important.

3- Don't beg for money on the forums, it's pretty much the only thing you're explicitly not allowed to ask in New Citizens'.

Ha somebody did...... 2mil to be exact I might stick around afterall I am an ******* like a majority of eve players. Will definetly have to investigate this whole bot thing since I was just told miners use it too mine while they are away. Hell some guy just offered me a program to run sounds suspicious though.

Thanks everyone for the great advice EVE and I might have a future now.

Haha, this should guarantee you a slot on CCP's watch list. Don't come crying when you get the ban hammer.
