My friend came up with this name when I started playing EverQuest oh so many years ago. I carried the name with me ever since.

Well, I wanted to be a Sarah Kerrigan, but all variations of Sarah that I tried had been taken (of course), so I thought back to a podcast I liked listening to, called talkradar, and the last female guest had been Veronica Belmont. Okay let's see...

I have a great many female friends. I also have a head of very fine, soft hair. Said friends LOVE to play with my hair because "it's the closest we'll ever get to playing with a fuzzy bunny!" (we all live in apartments). A few years ago, I got tired of being called "Fuzzy" so I grew my head hair out. Now it is a beautiful "mane of silky fluffiness" (their words, not mine) so I am currently known as "Fluffy."
"Fluffers" is just a branch out from that.

The prefix to my name came about from the serious thought process of "ooooo... it sounds cooler that way." I speak a bit of Persian/Farsi (thanks Dad) and "King" translates to "Shah."

So I am thus, the King of Fluffiness!!

It was a name created by a friend 15-16 odd years ago, caps lock is cruise control for cool and all. It's an anagram for Hex Ire Spur but I prefer it in EVE being XIRU SP HERE. Big smile

Voldan was created well over 12 Years ago when my old character name (one from a book) started being taken up, or blocked.
I have other characters that have been around as long and I tend to use the same names in all the games I play.

Although this was not my first character in EVE I picked another one to use instead.
It gets pretty funny at times as some people know me as one character and others know me as another.
Especially if they end up in the same alliance or corp.

As far as the name creation, pick something random and then modify it till I like it.
With the exception of the one character name which I can't use anymore.

I prefer names that give some room for roleplaying. I researched the forums to see what was the consensus on Amarrian origin and many seemed to think that they were like Persian. So i looked for Persian and Mongol names (becaus eold Khanid looke pretty mongolian) in many websites and came up with Ishtanchuk, from the Persian Ishtar (star) and a pretty common termination for mongol names which apparently means "strong" (-chuk)

So Ishtanchuk means somehting like "mighty star". As for the surname, just created it from scratch.

For my alt and ingame cousin, Indahmawar, I went far east and used google translator until I came up with "indah mawar", which means "beautiful rose" in Malayan. Thus, Indahmawar is my beauty contest ingame cousin...

For my second alt I also used Google Translate an came up with a variation of the Korean words meaning "alternate path", and so she got the name Yiole Gionglao back when Achuras looked Eastern. Now she's a blue eyed, frecked redhead and the name looks a bit silly, but, damn CARBON for it.

In danish "lusk" means sneaky, insidious or shady. The Z just made it look more like a name and less like a word.Attention

Just remembered. The name was given to me by friends that thought I looked a little like black pete's right hand "Scuttle". In danish his name was "Lusk", this goes 20 years back.

Stormshadow was in the top 100 names used in fantasy rpg's back in a survey 2000, there are 8 books with a character called stormshadow, there were three sailing ships called stormshadow, it's the name of an air to ground cruise missile system used by the brittish, french and italian airforces, it's a well known brand of stage amplifiers as well as a custom guitar manufacturer, it's also a character in GI Joe both the cartoons and the film and a character in the old Battle Action Force Anual 1987 P

I'm not sure how this happened. I needed to create a dev char, there was some time pressure so I just wrote *something*. And then that stuck. No real reason behind it.
