You can fix it by reverting packages. Download old packages (either using following link, or manually from Debian repos if you don't trust me):

http://upload.blaugrund.org/file/7705/xorg.7z (x86_64 only)

Install all of them using dpkg (sudo dpkg -i *.deb in folder with just these packages).

Then add following to /etc/apt/preferences file:

http://pastebin.com/fzHGSjt8

It will pin xorg packages to their current version to prevent auto-upgrades

ps Also, could you please confirm bug on wine bugtracker?

Had the same issue on Debian Wheezy 64Bit.
Downgrading of Xorg fixed the bug. Thank you :)

Oh, it was you. You've already infested my computer so I believe I trust you Smile

I realised I only ran Wheezy for xfce4 4.8 and chromium so I went back to Squeeze instead.

"Infested" of course, with the most excellent program Pyfa. Just so no one believe I was serious.

I got it working again.
replacing /usr/lib32/libXi.so.6.1.0 with /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libXi.so.6.1.0 works for me

it requires libxi6 and ia32-libx
so far i've got no crashes

Solved the trouble with crashes since the update from Squeeze to Wheezy for me too. Thx 4 sharing

[EDIT]
Coincidence or not.. don't know but my crashes are back... On window resizes and moving them around.

[2nd EDIT]
Since it was hinted below I re-tried changing the xinput library. Worked..

There was an update for wheezy the other day that changed some of the files. Just make new symlinks and it work again.

Ok.. since I grew tired of hunting down the reason why the fix doesn't work anymore (lots of updates in Debian Wheezy, non seemingly related to the X Input system..) I decided to compile wine 1.5.6.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=30729#c8 states its fixed there.

Works for me.
