Tell CEO you found the spot, but he needs to wardec the dead corp that has the moon. then get everybody together in Geddons and have fun shooting a small tower for hours. Oh and have the tower you are going to use right there waiting, as someone will snipe it if you are not quick enough placing your own.

Someone enterprising will have run your character name through a locator agent, checked your current corp and corp history, added most obvious corps to watch list entered constellation your character is located, acquired names of all the pilots who share common history, will have locator agents ready to run for as many of these guys as they can handle. When your geddon blob forms Enterprising person will have a recon ship in local as well as a hauler in an npc corp. If your blob is not big enough they may choose to bring their own.

It's a truism in EVE that the more aggressive and ominous the name or title, the bigger the bear that cowers behind it.

99% of corps with names like "Ultimate Death Mercenaries" are 3 man corps that run L4s.

I've also seen literally hundreds of characters with names like "Maximus Starslayer" and "Deathhand Silentkill" mining in hulks.

It's like people start up EVE for the first time and decide they are going to be a space badass, but then when they realize that being a space badass requires them to shoot at people, and that shooting at people is scary they just give up.

Wardec and blow up the tower. 'Nuff said.

OP has been playing since 2005 and is the CEO of a 67 man corp. This is basic stuff.

You could make an argument that abandoned POS should disappear after 30d of inactivity like GSCs. But on the other hand it is very easy to war dec and get rid of a small offline POS. I say if you cannot get a handful of BS to shoot an offline undefended POS then you don't deserve a moon for a POS.

Agreed, Dec the corp that is the smallest of the abandoned ones you find. (Contact them first to see if you get a response. That way you know if the corp is truly dead.) Marshall your corp and have a bash if you don't get a response.

Be quick about setting up your own tower and getting it online. (Be sure to load the Stront bay too.)

2 hours...? If you don't want to wardec the people, please get better at D-Scan... Set up an overview profile, if you like, that only shows:

Moons
Forcefields
Control Towers

If the scan result of the system shows more moons than towers, then narrow down the range of your scan and figure out which planet/s the empty moons are at...

Go to said planet/s, narrow the range to 1 or 2 AU (probably just 1 AU), then lower the Angle of your scan and Rotate+Scan 'til you find them.

Shouldn't take more than 5 or 10 minutes once you're up to speed...

FYI I did just that. D scan came up with 33 stations and 38 moons. As stated in OP. the stations don't show a distance unlike the moons. So I had to visit every moon to try and find the 5 moons with out stations. Nope all the moons had stations... Dam the d scan lied. Shows all moons but not the stations around them.

And to the others yes I have been playing for some time but this is the first time I have ever gotten a pos and first time I've managed a corp. I'm not going for the dread name. My name is Maxious nnothing so bad about that. I've had that name since 1988 and even own the website. And the dragon knight of eve are also not a dread name. My plan is to follow the crimson knights from dot hack. We're protectors and defenders. Not attackers. Yes it might come to wardec an inactive corp but that's against our policy and I would much rather a more peacefully method. If a corp is truly dead after research then their should be no problem. And I'll get a strike team to blow it up when the time comes. But I come on here and ask questions so I can get all the options. I don't know everything and don't claim to. I ask questions to find out.

Every time I see you post, this song starts playing in my head.

I'm going to guess the name wasn't chosen because someone's a Lesley Gore fan.

How is this not obvious to you, man? THIS IS A SPACE WAR GAME!

Still...ancored, unprotected POS's should take damage over time. They are next to a gravity well. Falling crap should impact them and cause damage. It should take a long while, but having every moon in HS tied up by POS's that haven't been active in years is kinda dumb.

Nah, just put combat probes at 1 AU over a planet and hit scan. Every tower will be at 100% easy. Do that to each planet in the system. Done.

Ummm... Is it possible to wardec a "closed" corporation? I thought this was one of the problems with hi-sec POS locations.

In other news, multiple spots in Halaima — 4 jumps from Jita, ice in system and in neighbouring system, multiple L4 agents nearby, not many belts in-system, but many only a jump away…

Only 7 Caldari faction standing needed, put your mission runners to work. Blink

Good point... I'm too accustomed to being sneaky in WH's. (-1 Rep for me, for not seeing a more obvious solution.)

You could always get out of caldari space, plenty of moons open in every other faction's space.
