No place for a high sec pos

Ok so my entire corp is screaming at me to get us a high sec pos "GET US A HIGH SEC POS" they say. Now I listen to what the corp wants and try to make it happen. I've designed the new pos. researched the net for everything I know. Start operations to get isk to buy the thing and start stockpiling materials for fuel and such. Getting a second account trained up in corp management to make a temp corp to hold all my corpies whilst setting up. Spent ages finding a prime site and now good to go

Found this system. Great little system. It's got ice for my corp. it's got 12 asteroids belts for mining. And it has a station with a refiner. Prime site. Ok I'll take it.
Went to the first moon. Their is a pos already there. Just a small control tower. Nothing else and has no power. Been abandoned by the look of it. Looked at the corp that owned it. About 5 people. Looks like the corp is dead and has been for a long time. Oh well this moon is tied up by some floating scrap. I'll try the next moon.... 2 hours and 38 moons later. I found that every moon is tied up. DAM no places left. I did a d scan but that shows only 33 stations but 38 moons. Their should be 5 moons free. But my eye check shows all moons taken.

Ok so this prime site is all use up by floating scrap mettle. Went to next neighbouring system. And initial d scan shows the same results. So what's going on here? Is it really so hard to get a high sec pos? Do stations get destroyed over time? What happens if you don't keep starbase charters topped up. Am I going to have to wardec a company to make space in a system?

1) Declare war.

2) Shoot unpowered tower.

3) Profit.

How is this not obvious to you, man? THIS IS A SPACE WAR GAME!

Edit: Also, first.

Double Edit: D-Scan has a finite range. Your 3 ghost stations are off-scan.

Yup, WarDec the Corp with the dead tower and blast it to make way for yours.

If you want a moon in that system, yes, you'll have to wardec and destroy their POS. If the POS is offline, it doesn't use fuel or charters. It'll never just autodestruct.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

War dec them, blow up their POS, put up your own.

That's what the Wardec system is there for. Many of the highsec POSes have been there for years. YEARS!!! Most don't even have guns. You can probably pay someone to do it for you.

So, the game's been around for 9 years. The HS map hasn't changed in those 9 years. The reasons people think places are prime haven't changed in 9 years. Why are you surprised that the prime spaces are all squatted?

Wardec someone or find something less prime.

Figure out what you actually need the POS for. Except Research, anything a POS can do, a Station does better, cheaper.

No, it's not particularly hard.

You just don't limit yourself to a specific system, and you start looking in places that are a bit off the beaten path.

Or pay someone else for its removal.. There are pos removeal mercs out there.

Or, hell, sometimes you can even pay the owners to get the spot — they get cash and keep their asset; you get the spot. Everyone wins (except the mercs). P

…but it's an unorthodox method with little to no guarantees that it will actually work.

Your corp name is literally The 'Dragon Knights of EVE'. There is no emoticon of an exploding psyduck head strong enough to describe that. Either blow up the POS or hire someone else to do it. This game doesn't really reward timidness.

Yes it is that hard to war dec and pop it rofl... wtf...

Edit... maybe time to get a CEO that knows wtf is going on in eve?

$20 says they want to rob the pos LOL. No reason to put one up execept for R&D and that's like prime easy to steal stuff doing.

You must be right on top of Jita. There are so many unclaimed moons it crazy. War-dec an inactive corp and blow up a small tower.

Just curious what do you need a high-sec pos for? The onlything high-sec pos do AFAIK is invention/manufacturing. That is a solo, or small tightly-knit group activity, not a pub corp activity. Someone is gonna rob ya.

It's a truism in EVE that the more aggressive and ominous the name or title, the bigger the bear that cowers behind it.

Posting on this character because apparently some people get upset when they're asked difficult questions. M.

If you want something, take it.

To keep/hold something, defend it.

That's how this game works.

Jesus get a geddon -> war dec -> leave geddon afk to shoot the POS -> come back in the morning. RollPirate

If your geddon and (your pod) aren't there no longer then the POS wasn't obviously abandoned just "in hibernation".

Shooting abandoned POS in high sec is no rocket science, folks.

Tell CEO you found the spot, but he needs to wardec the dead corp that has the moon. then get everybody together in Geddons and have fun shooting a small tower for hours. Oh and have the tower you are going to use right there waiting, as someone will snipe it if you are not quick enough placing your own.
