VILLORE 01:24 gmt

Reports were up in Gallente Militia chat warning pilots of a Caldari Militia Tengu supported by 2 ruptures ganking noob Fed pilots in Villore. Thankfully, an Eve Radio FW fleet was forming up in system.

Appearing non-threatening in his Drake, Eve Radio listener and Gallente Militia pilot Zeratha, engaged both ruptures outside the FDU station. By only firing 1 launcher and doing little damage, he lulled them into thinking he was flying the New Eden Common fail fit drake. Both ruptures engaged and were summarily destroyed in missile spammage before they could de-agress and dock.

The tengu nearly shat his pants.

Attempting to avoid the fate of his Rupture buddies, the tengu quickly warped to a nearby belt, presumably to move again and evade the Eve Radio fleet that was quickly moving in on him. Zeratha correctly guessed he would warp to 100, and in his drake landed on top of the Tengu before he could warp again, and... wait for it... tackled him.

Screaming in fleet as well as militia chat, Zeratha called in for support, and 8 fast attack boats as well as a fail fit blaster mega were on the scene in moments, tearing into the tengu. 4 of the 8 fast attack ships were lost in the ensuing fight, however the Tengu eventually succumbed to focused fire and was destroyed accounting for an estimated loss of just over 1 Billion ISK, including several pricey faction mods.

Good fun was had all around, and no one saw the tackling drake coming.

You neglected to mention the 12 Federation Navy ships that were helping your gang. Meaning you actually managed to lose ships in a 20 vs 3.

Well done, I guess? Bear

Yup, we lost 2 rifters, a Merlin, and a comet all tackling at point blank range taking him down, and I'd trade that again in a second to kill a tengu worth over a bill. As for the navy, that's his fault, not ours. But whatever you need to say to sound like a badass. Pirate

Requiring 20 NPC ships to help in the take-down isn't really worth bragging about. But nice kill anyway.

There weren't 20 ships, there were maybe 9 on the station, and when he warped to the belt there were 3 which is the standard npc spawn when you enter enemy highsec.

It's got nothing to do with need, if you want to engage the enemy in his highsec, you have to be prepared to tank the npc spawn, which you can do with a t1 cruiser as it's not much damage, and the NPCs are easy to kill, as demonstrated by the 2 support ruptures who were also under constant npc fire. This isn't Concord. it's 2 npc frigates and a cruiser.

Our drake was only on him for a couple of minutes and did 3 times the damage the npc spawn did (32k damage vs 11k) and the npc damage was for the ENTIRE time the Tengu was out hunting villore, not just our engagement. My comet was on him for maybe 30 seconds and did 1/3 the damage of the "20 ship" NPC spawn.

So let's calm down about "requiring" npcs. Without them the fight might have lasted another 20 or 30 seconds MAX, and maybe we would have lost 1 more rifter. The tengu was dead when the Drake landed on top of him, not when the NPC horde showed up.
