When a company says "We strive for quality" what does that mean?

It generally means they're not certified to any ISO standards IME. Now I'm well aware of all the BS to do with QC/QA over the last 25 years - most is paper shuffling nonsense and ISO standards are no different. ISO9001 does however make clear the minimum standards applicable.

However as an example - if I see a company saying "We strive for quality" and they're not ISO9001 accredited and in the EU/EEA then they're quite clearly talking crap.

I have no idea whether CCP are in fact ISO9001 accredited, but if you're not then you're talking crap on anything regarding quality.

It's been 10 years since I had anything to do with ISO9001 but wasn't one of the main mantras 'Do what you say and say what you do'? Meaning that there pretty much had to be a SOP for everything and they had to be followed? When something was done it had to be thoroughly documented etc.?

Clearly this hasn't happened at CCP, probably ever. The lack of documentation eminating from the company regarding its product is astonishing. Wiki's don't count BTW.

I may be way off, like I said it's been a decade since I cared.

Edit:

I've just read HIlmar's Blog, so it makes my above comment look pretty silly!
