New build on Singularity - 300737, change of mirror

Hey!

As CCP Gangleri wrote here Singularity is now running a new build, which is much closer to the current version on TQ. This means that all the new features like new CQs, new font, time dilation etc. are no longer available on Singularity.

The reason for this is to get more testing coverage on CarbonIO before the client side of it is being released to TQ.

Mirror: We reverted temporarily to the old mirror, which was running on Singularity before last Friday as the new mirror is no longer compatible with this build.
edit: Skill-points from the last 2 mass-tests were applied.

Patching: Direct auto-patching from yesterday's version is not possible, as this build is a different branch. It is possible to use SisiLauncher, but you will have to download about 755 MB.
In my opinion it would be best if you make a new copy from your TQ client and patch this one (for example through SisiLauncher).

When will see the new features again? This is not yet finally decided, but probably (on Singularity) not before CarbonIO is released successfully to TQ. It is also possible that we will use Duality for these features, for example for a Time Dilation mass-test - but this will be announced later.

This isn't a very useful answer. What is the timescale of the CarbonIO release?

CCP posted a news item with the patch notes stating that this next patch enables CarbonIO, which is being deployed on Tuesday, October 18th. So it actually IS a useful answer, it just assumes you've already read about the patch (which is a fair assumption in my opinion).

Odd.

1. I get the new Ship Spinning option

2. I get the new font - horrible but easier to read.

3. However the mirror is a really old one

4. I don't get any variety in CQ.


The last two make sense if you have reverted back to the old copy of Sisi - so how does that explain the first two?



BTW - why are there ashtrays on the coffee table and near the bed? I don't mind if Minmatar want to stink the place out or set fire to themselves, but my Gallente quarters will be smoke-free please Lol

Thanks for the 18th date on this.

I decided to revise my live training plan to add some skills - enable better testing here: I really do want to try out some capital ship changes...

That date lets me know that I may be able to do some tests and see how things work.

Since the latest update I can not access Singularity.

Both of my installations insist on trying to connect to Tranquillity.

Of course, only the main one is successful with that.


I have confirmed that the config file has been updated to include the IP Address of the the Singularity server, but it still goes to the wrong server.


How does the Application know which copy of the config file to use, i.e. which version of the Application Support files to use? Does it matter what I call the Singularity package? What?

The 18th came and went, as did the 19th-23rd, and still no new mirror. please can we get a new one, i have a new higher sp character that i'd love to join the tests with, specially in all the new ships unlocked to me now. why keep testing all the new stuff on an ancient mirror???

impatiently awaiting to be able to get to use my character on sisi.
