I'm quite sad that it has come to this, but lets have a brief review. There's probably very few independent miners that have not lost at least one and perhaps several mining barges. Speaking out in the forums just seems to make things worse. CCP has shown no inclination to help the miners. The Goonies are making a ton of money supplying new hulks, and so have no incentive to stop the so-called permageddon.

There are many who say words to the effect, "Well, instead do this or that or something else." That's all well and good, but I for one WANT to mine. i enjoy it (sad, I know) and I have no desire to pvp.

After reviewing the salient facts, I have come to the conclusion that the only option remaining is to vote with my wallet, and as a result, my 2 accounts are now cancelled. Sure, that's just a drop in the proverbial bucket, but I doubt I'm the first to leave over this, nor do I think I shall be the last.

Let me give you a basic economic lesson.

Supply and Demand. You supply, but what creates demand?

Thus in the complex world of econ* you lose ships, add risk, difficulty of moving/producing and you get the prices that make it all worth it in the end.

Thus, risk vs reward. The less risk, the less you're going to make, the less it makes sense to do. But it's okay since you can't wrap your poor little mining head around this. Even I am a 4 year veteran miner and understand this. EVE is not for everybody.

Well, the neighbors kids, I don't have my own, and usually because they keep walking on my lawn and letting their dog **** in my grass. Then I don't usually beat them, just chase them with a broom. Even then It's really more like yelling "get of my lawn you ******* brats!". Except I live in my parents basement, and the neighbors don't have kids, and I never leave my room. And by basement I mean a closet in a halfway house.

Is throwing on a few invulnerability fields on your hulk's empty mid slots and throwing a large shield transporter on your orca alt really that difficult?

I don't think you "get" EVE or CCP. EVE is a harsh world and CCP's motto is HTFU. They really don't care about whiners whining and then leaving. If they removed pvp from high sec you'd just whine about something else tomorrow and ragequit.
