Love it. nuff said.

Now... I need to go finish a few things in SW:TOR on the Vrook Lamar server. That is where I have been hanging out since the new UI came into being.

I won't say you are stupid, but you're not exactly on the Zombie menu either.

Also worth noting, since CCP goliath has posted some useful information on how the ui works and aided people in understanding on how do stuff within this new framework.

those interested in may actually find some of the information there helpful.

and ccp might even want to create some kinda content out of those posts as they would aid a lot of players .

but here is the linky

next unified inventory update

and just click on the blue dev stripes and when you get to Golaith's posts especially further into the thread there is a lot of good info there.

Indeed we want to reduce their number. I just had a demo today from CCP Punkturis and CCP Sharq of a new UI control made recently by CCP Colgate that will reduce the need even further to have right-click menus or pop-up windows. It will first be used in an iteration of the War Deceleration and War Report UI.

CCP is indeed on a 'crusade' against context menus, Punkturis confirmed as much.
Yes, we are. See reply above.

Shift + Click for overheat = good, nice and simple, removes a context menu.

Double click ship for cargo = again, good, completes the objective of removing a menu.

Click hangar, wait 10 minutes for everything to load and then be swamped in windows = bad. The other system was good; is there no way to roll it back and start again? What?

My biggestcomplaint is looting multiple wrecks. Old way you opened all the cans after you salvaged them, then just hit "loot all" on bottom loot can and the next can opened. Now you try that in new UI and after looting each can you get kicked to ships hanger, then you have to click on next can, then loot it, then get kicked to ship hanger. Its a endless click fest
OK, this has been fixed; at least internally and will then be included in Inferno 1.1. I was at a sprint review with the team yesterday, and specifically asked about looting experience and got a demo of how it works from CCP RubberBAND. I found the experience to be really fluid.

Hi, Punkturis.

While you're making UI changes, is there any chance you could 'fix' :

right-click > location > set destination...?

From the markets window it works perfectly, and will send you to the actual station...
From the assetts window it also works, and will send you to an actual station... but...
From the science & industry window, doing this with completed 'jobs' only sends you to the solar system the station's in...

No, that's not what we said. Sad

After 19 June there will further releases, Inferno 1.1.x, as needed and as promised, for Unified Inventory."

Just saying, being able to assign keyboard shortcuts would go a long way towards this.

Open ship's fuel bay.
Open corporation hangars.
Launch drones.
etc.

I actually prefer right-click menus :| Also, the less combinations of keys and mouse clicks the better.

CCP RedDawn: Ugly people are just playing life on HARD mode. Personally, I'm playing on an INFERNO difficulty.

CCP Goliath: I often believe that the best way to get something done is to shout at the person trying to help you. http://goo.gl/PKGDP

Those right click menus are a pain in the ass.
I'm not sure but in last 10 years i don't think i saw a game using them lol.

The contextual menu is the most unfriendly part of EVE.

I stand corrected, I read this: http://community.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&nbid=72868

We’ve been hogging a lot of releases for the Unified Inventory recently and at some point we’ll need to go back to our regular release calendar. The last of our rapid response releases will be done this week (7 releases in less than 2 weeks so far), focusing on dealing with the biggest issue right now: Performance. Those improvements are going out Thursday, June 7, and should hopefully smoothen the experience considerably.

I read this wrong, my apologies.

This message brought to you by Experience(tm). When common sense fails you, experience will come to the rescue. Experience(tm) from the makers of CONCORD.

Great! Another thread about the "feature" called the Unified Inventory...

Since I haven't received a DEV response to this issue in any other thread, I will post it here. At least two DEVs have been here already. :-)

By CCP's own description of the Unified Inventory, it really isn't even what THEY think it is.

From this page: http://www.eveonline.com/inferno/unified-inventory-ftr/

Quote:
Unified Inventory - Your entire fortune in a single click

You have hangars of ships at your disposal and wealth that spans the galaxy. Unified Inventory gives you convenient access to all of it. Searching for your favorite ship is now easier. Assessing your stockpiles, more convenient. Admiring the fruits of your labors, more rewarding.

Sounds to me like this "feature" was originally intended for the assets tab, and then got sidetracked somewhere along the way.

Does anyone else see the problem here? Does any DEV wish to explain this?

How you plan to improve dscan?
Giving a 3D interface?
I'm still learning how to use it (Please veterans if I say anything nonsense correct me)
Basically you calibrate it to a angle and give a reach and detect X.
Though I don't understand if works as a sphere the angling or in vectors.

Loud and clear...

Sometimes captains quarters open when I login, it takes 4 or 5 game crashes and 1 hard reboot to get it back to hanger view. So yeah don't think I'm used to CQ yet.

Do not assume anything above this line was typed by me. Nerf the Truth, it's inconvenient.

Thank you for the quick reply. But, you have got to be kidding me!

I was *JUST TOLD* by a GM that THIS THREAD was the "official" thread.

It's no wonder why things are so messed up. There's definitely a communication breakdown at CCP.
