Fit and Skills for Fighter Assigning Thanatos at POS

So, I'm looking to buy a carrier pilot, and I'd like the thanatos. I've been saving up for a long time, and have enough to buy a decently skilled thanatos pilot + a fit thanatos; not one with perfect skills or that I'd be ready to fly into combat, but a decently skilled one.

So, I'd like to use it to make some extra cash to recoup my isk, and train it up so I can start flying it with our alliance's cap fleet, then work my way towards a Nyx.

Basically what I'm looking for from you guys is advice: What are the minimal skills and fit needed to move a thanatos to the edge of a POS, to assign 10 fighters, and be able to tank any attempt to gank it while on the POS shields and have time to slow-boat my way back into the POS shields. I don't expect to survive 20 Super-Carriers dropped on me; something more like a 30-40 man gang that cyno'd in on top of the carrier. Also, notice I said assign fighters; I don't want to rat in the carrier itself. Even if aligned, it's too risky for me and I'd really like to hang onto it so I can use it in ops later on.

You need the ability to launch fighters, the ability to fit a T2 tank and capital tank mods (if you want to have any real tank), and the presence of mind to have your carrier fly back into the bubble when any neut shows up in the system. You should also probably learn to ask questions like this in your alliance's capitals channel/forum/whatever.

Just making sure: Do you mean that you want to assign 10 fighters to 1 ratting ship? Because that is not working.

You can just assign 5 fighters to 1 ship and then the ship itself cannot use any other drones (like lights for the frigs)
