For all the people that don't under stand how plex works.

Some human/robot/spaceman had to pay for that plex with real money ( Euros,USD) or that plex would of never been for someone to have payed in game isk for.


SO

it works like this

Joe is rich in Real life, and pays for his sub with money.

Joe wants more eve isks, and dose not want to spend time in game grinding these isks.

Joe buys a plex from CCP and posts a selling thread in the correct forums.

Mat has allot of isks in game and is poor in Real life but is running out of game time.

Mat comes to the forums finds Joe's sell order.

Mat buys Joe's Plex with isks.

Joe gets isks, Mat gets game time.

Joe has just payed for mats game time.


SO, plexes are not ""FREE GAME TIME"" someone payed for that game time even if its not the person using it.

All automated intel should be removed from the game including Instant local/jumps/kills/cynos for all systems/regions.Eve should report nothing like this to the client/3rd party software.Intel should not be force fed to players. Player skill and iniative should be the sources of intel.

meh minor diff, someone bout it with real money all the same

People sell GTC in forums. They are bit different thing, but same basic idea - yes.

And Epeen, I bought a PLEX from EVE today. You're wrong ;)

GTC = 60 day
PLEX = 30 day

When did that change? Never actually bought from the man. Always thought it was GTC from CCP into two plexes into ingame market.

Does/Have CCP ever inject(ed) PLEX into the market?

Obviously with it's current pricing I can see this as being the only way to reduce PLEX cost.

Or reduce RL amount for PLEX purchase to put more in.

Lost income to CCP either way. Anyone know?

There are the :bitternoobs: who unsub, yet pay with PLEX because they think CCP won't get any money out of it.
In fact, CCP get more money given that many subscriptions are less than $15 a month.

Plex prices get too high, login numbers fall. Its as simple as that.

If some people wanted they could **** up EVE's population by doing market manipulation on PLEX. CCP cannot afford that.

False logic there.
Bitter vets like me have accounts on plex not because I think CCP will get no money out of it, but because I know CCP will get none of MY money out of it. If they get some one else's money then that is naught to do with me. Also remember a 12 month (or even 6 month) play license may be significantly cheaper - however you have to pay upfront. I had 4 accounts roll out in July - I was simply not prepared to invest that amount of money in a game that might not have wanted to play after Christmas.

Well GameTimeCards you can buy from external sites like Shattered Crystal. Many other sites link to pages like this. As far as I am aware, they get some small share for the work and for providing free advertisement. GTC can only be converted to game time or sold in forums with isk as mentioned earlier.

Plex you can buy either directly from CCP with cash or from in-game market, in-game contract or directly from other player in-game. Usually x amount of isk is involved in in-game trading. Plex can be converted either to game time or aurum. It can also be resold with isk.

I've never tried to describe the system this well, so hopefully facts went pretty close to the truth. Someone will surely correct if that wasn't the case - that is what I love in these forums :)

As far as i know all in game time cards for sale in the in game market where payed for by someone with real money.


In less someone at CCP wishes to come along and say they are seeding free game time. < not likely

Actually, with the buddy program CCP give you a free plex when your buddy subscribes. Nobody paid for this. Your buddy paid for his first month and doesn't get the plex.

CCP may not get your cash, but they get cash. Someone else gets the time you spend grinding ISK.

Also, I don't get these people's logic. Are they playing the game out of spite? WTF, play a different game... why waste so many hours on a game you hate?
