Hi Everyone;

I've looked around and found some information on BPC run quantity affecting max run of invented t2 bpc's.

Can someone break it down in 2012 terms how this works ie is max run worth the investment.

Thanks for all your help in advance.

first hit i got when googling "eve invention"

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

For the general inventor max run bpcs are only used for modules and ammo as they will give you a ten run t2 bpc. Rigs and ships you would use a 1 run as you only get 1 run.

Exactly, you no longer need a max run bpc to usefully run decryptors on modules. And you no longer only get one T2 run from a 1 run ship BPC.

you dont need max run BPC`s anymore to use Decryptors, but you still won`t get more than 1 run without decryptors if im not totally mistaken

You are because I've gotten 10 run T2 BPCs on ammo with no decryptors.

Modules and Ammo you just use max run, with no decryptor

Ships and rigs are different (or at least they were), where using a max run copy, with no decryptor, just gave you a 1 run copy.

why would anyone buy the +9 run and -2ME decryptors then?

Dunno, maybe so they get 19 runs? You'd have to run the numbers to see what works out. Spreadsheets in space and all that.

You want proof that people don't use decryptors (for extra runs) on Ammo and modules? (this is in general. There may be cases where they do)

It's fairly simple to prove (unless every inventor out there is a /total/ moron. I'm not. I make isk on invention.)

Run the numbers.

Expanded cargohold II will sell for around 700,000 each.

Of that, you're spending around 125k in materials. So around 600,000 profit, discounting invention costs.
http://www.fuzzwork.co.uk/blueprints/1319/-4/5/0/5

Those costs are:
The blueprint (I'll ignore this)
The invention slot cost (again, ignoring this)

The datacores.
2x molecular engineering
2x nanite engineering.

Those cores cost more than 150k each. So if you only got one run out of it, you'd be making a loss. (even ignoring the fact you'll likely have a 50% success rate)

You''l likely pay 5 million or so for the +9 run decryptor. Still, next to no profit margin, with a 100% chance of success. as the +9 reduces the chance by 40%, I'm sure you can see how that just doesn't work.

False? The only thing the patch changed was the alteration of runs from 1 run bpcs when using a decryptor. I do not see how my original statement is wrong. If you don't use a max run ammo or mods you will not get a 10 run bpc unless you use a decryptor.
It's funny how quick people are at calling false.

Edit: And I don't know about all modules but i have never found one that is worth using a decryptor on Execpt for when they are first seeded into the game to get the first units on the market without waiting for a copy.
The change to invention was meant to remove the penalty on using 1 run copies for ship and rig invention with decrypters. Anyone who does invention as a profession knows this. Infact there was a rather large thread about this when the patch first came out.
