2 big complaints from a returning player

Now i haven't played EvE for many years, but I would now like to return...if I could.

Forum:
I can't log into the forum with my account until I reactivate it.

Payment:
I have 3 debit cards, those are MasterCard, Maestro and Visa. I'm not allowed to use either of them for some reason (all from different banks in different countries too)

So, maybe I can use my Paypal account? No, to pay for EvE i have to link a credit/debit card here too... this makes no sense at all, since I unchecked the recurring payment box.

3. option is something called webmoney, with a description that this is for those who for some reason can't use their credit/debit cards to pay.
The problem is, this is a unsecured page, originated in Russia where i have to inform about name, address, phone number and PASSPORT NUMBER?!

Not going to happen...

Would love to come back, if I could.

What is wrong with a bank transfer, or pay by sms, or any of the other couple of hundreds ways of paying for something online? Most other companies can do this without problem...

I use my VISA debit to pay for mine all the time. Suggest you contact your bank/s and find out what the problem is, as it may not be on CCP's end. One thing you can garentee is that CCP do want your hard earned cash, and therefor they are likely trying to sort the problem :P

Edit : Pay by sms is silly and opens the door to mass theft and fraud. Since there is no way to tell who sent the text, only what phone it is sent from. Games like wow probably encourage underage kids to steal a 9 quid text off mum to play games they shouldn't be playing. I'm thankful eve hasn't gone this far yet.

I've used Visa and Mastercard to pay for my subsciption. Both work fine.

You could check out ETC Resellers incase they have better payment options.

Thanks, looking around there now.
Problem about that, is that it is more expensive
10/15 dollar a month if i could pay with card, or 35 euro for 2 months if i buy that that prepaid solution?

Most EvE-players use visa/mastercard, and for all of them it works fine. If you read my first post, you would see that it does not work fine for me, that's why I'm commenting it.

Did you try contacting your bank and CCP to see why it doesn't work?

I have contacted CCP, but no reply yet. But as i said, all of them were different banks, with different kinds of cards.


But anyway, tried a 4. card now, also a Visa debitcard, and voila, it worked. Happy man now, no more whining :)

Some banks don't like international exchanges.

I use my VISA CC to pay for my game time.

My bank called me by phone when I first paid for EVE: this was within a few weeks of a WoW subscription payment too. Once I told them it was okay, I've had no issues paying subscriptions for EVE. But then I've also paid an awful lot of subscription time with PLEX, so the next debit card subscription will likely raise a red flag again.
