Whether it is for disrupting ratting, cloaking stealth bombers on the enterance of 0.0 gates, whatever it is. Its been a very long time, and its generally accepted as part of the tactics (psycological too) against the enemy's home/forward base.

Its a powerful tactic, probably too powerful. Virtually untouchable as soon as it warps out and cloak somewhere deep space in the solar system. You can't scan it nor can you probe a cloaking ship.

You'll never know whether it is a cloaky alt, an cloaky character with covert cyno to bring in cloaky fleet, or a simply a cloaking character(s) waiting for target of oppurtunity for pvp.

Why not add additional sovereignty benefits for the defender?

A decloaking PoS module or a station add-on. The follwing what it can/should do:

PoS Decloaking Array:
Decloaks any cloaking ships in the system
Disables re-cloak for XXX amount of time (say 30 minutes) in the system, both friendly and hostile effect.
Only one per system to be online.
Requires:
Between Strategic III to V

Station Decloaking add-on:
Function the same feature and requirement as mentioned above, except the decloaker is only available to station system.
It is destructable add-on upgrade. Similar to upgrade mechanics for the station upgrades (except those station upgrades isnt' destructable).

I think its really possible and easily implemented. Why? Well, I was a -5.0 pirate. When i'm in empire, I noticed I cannot warp cloak because of persuring NPC faction ships. So if CCP have that implemented, why not add it for defending alliances? Sure it works a little differently, but it still has the same "cannot cloak" as long as you are a pirate in a certain sec status systems.

Remove local and this "problem" of cloaks working as intended will cease to exist.

For now, HTFU. If you can't deal with a cloaker then you are very bad at spaceships.

Will this topic ever die?

Did you get tired of complaining about the UI? Now we complain about a module that works as intended, and just because people use it effectively that is a problem?

I would like an anchor-able device that disrupts mining lasers system wide. Since I am no longer able to sneak up on miners in my cloaked ship, I want to be able to disrupt their ability to shoot rocks.

for various reasons, no. This is a passive ability and, on the whole, CCP is moving eve away from passive stuff like income. If anything, a ship should be able to divine where a cloaky is (somehow, though I'd frown at an AoE pulse), not a structure.

I am not 100% safe from everyone red when I'm in deep nullsec. CCP please change the game to make it even harder to lose ships to roaming gangs so I don't have to PVP.

Jeebus, yet another 'hardcore 0.0' dweller who cant stand having anything dissrupt his carebearing.
Waaa, there is an unknown in 'Local' everyone stop ratting/mining/whatever and dock up.

How about remove cloaked vessels from local. Make Cloaks really cloaked. (remove their access to local for balance)

Now you dont have to p*ss your pod every time you see an unknown in the local window.
