It is driving me crazy that they have dozens of alternate colors for the existing handful of clothing items, but we can not have them. It's not like these are very rare items, or promotional things, or attainable by other means.

Though the grand schemes for (the nominal) microtransactions have apparently flopped, I don't see the sense in having these items unavailable in the Noble Exchange. There would obviously be some people interested in actually exchanging PLEX for these things, thereby creating incentive for more people to buy more PLEX.

In the worst case, devs put a teeny bit of effort into making these available (these items exist, work, and already have market entries for) and only a handful of people actually bother to redeem AUR. This is literally something that could be done by downtime.

I have to agree with Aphox here. It's already something that exists and has been implemented into the game, mechanically. Let us have it, already!

Honestly, if they really want to make money on cosmetic changes they need to hire someone who can make the changes necessary so ships can have color effects/regalia. You could link it to a ship type, so like all your Rifter's, and any new Rifter's you buy, have that effect.

People would actually buy stupid amounts of that.

T'amber already had the perfect mockups for this, I was very, very disappointed he didn't get voted into CSM. I can guarantee that I would pay stupid amounts of money for pink camouflage.

It is quite silly to keep finished work from us all. I know that I'd like to see the alternate colors.

Wonderful idea, Aphoxema.

I made this same comment, more or less, in another thread so i fully support this idea.

I'm an amateur programmer so i dare not belittle the work of professionals, but I cannot imagine that adding in these alternate colors would take much work from the art team or the programmers.

I'm genuinely curious if there is some technical reason for these not being included in the game yet because, from the outside looking in, it just looks like they forgot or just didn't feel like doing it.

In case any CCP employee reads this, I'm not angry or anything. I appreciate the work you guys do and all, but this particular matter is a bit baffling if I'm quite honest so any update at all on this would be nice.

P.S. How's the whole "Achura wearing old underwear models" thing coming along? once again, I don't know how much work is required for it, but from a complete novice's perspective, it doesn't seem like terribly much work. Just sayin'

That is something sorely missed, as well as transparent shell clothing, blinking lights on armor for no obvious reason, and collars that stuck through skin no matter how you did it.

Even the skins for some ships are available. (In the client data files you can find a Quafe Megathron or a Kaalakiota Rokh and such.)

Dude, where is my Quafe Megathron?

I suspect those clothes priced around $50-200 apiece in aurum equivalent thus developers don't implement them on TQ due to possible new rage campaign and players exodus. I suspect WiS / NeX is strict taboo now for CCP - otherwise I don't see any point why these items are in development limbo for like 9 months already.

And yes - could be nice to see them implemented on TQ already. As well as common halls, windows and other stuff promised for Incarna.

The PVP fanatics will scream that it's pay2win if people can choose to buy pink clothes. Go figure. It will turn out to be a violation of the Holy Sandbox.

It is Eve tradition to pay obscene amounts of isk for a ship that is different to the standard fare. Allowing people to just pick different colours like you're customizing your car in Trackmania I think would take this away, especially if this customization was applied to every ship you fly.

Suddenly everyone looks different, at best it becomes boring, at worst it compromises the artistic vision of the game because some people have no taste. "Oh lolol hello kitty scorpion isn't that funny" yes, but I don't really want it to be in the game, because it is dumb.
