If its not a game breaking mechanic you could be waiting a week or so.

I filed a silly petition the other day and was waiting 6 days for a response. I was expecting to wait longer to be honest.

Maybe I'll have to make a new post every hour to attract a DEVS attention, once the forum starts to get full of my posts I'm sure I'll get banned rather than a simply answer.

Hi all, sorry for the delay in getting to this thread but I'd like to help you out with some of these issues regarding the various offers which we currently have. Please note that I will give you as much detail as possible, but in order to help you out with your specific issues I would really recommend that you send in a petition (ideally by logging into the website, or at least from the email associated with the account) so that we can look into your issues further.

My son wishes to return to Eve and has recieved a CCP email stating that he could return to Eve for 30 days for £4.99

"EVE Online: Pound for Pound a great value - £4.99 for 30 Days – Join us"

However when click the link the offer is not visable, instead it is £9.99 for 30 days.

Anyone have details on how to actually apply the offer?

The offer that you mention here is to upgrade a trial account. We do have a few different offers available for different groups and I understand that this can cause confusion where you have multiple accounts. If your son would like to contact us we would be happy to point him in the right direction to the account which this offer applies to.

Welcome back! I'm sorry to hear that you missed out on the offers this time around. I hope that everything else is going well with your return, we are glad to have you back in New Eden.

Apologies for any delay that you are experiencing in getting a reply to your petition, we do try to get around to everyone as quickly as possible.

We did have an offer running over the weekend which is now extended, further details can be found in the following news item:

http://community.eveonline.com/news/newsFromEve.asp?newsTitle=eve-weekend-offer-extended

This particular offer was valid when creating a new account and could not be combined with other offers such as a free 14 day trial, 21 day buddy trial or any other existing account.

EDIT - note that the benefits of the buddy trial include an extended trial period of 21 days plus a reward for your buddy when you upgrade with a valid payment method. Again, these offers sadly cannot be combined.

"EVE Online: Pound for Pound a great value - £4.99 for 30 Days – Join us

Return to EVE online for only £4.99 for your first 30 days and dive back into the virtual universe by which all others are measured. You read that price right, by the way; CCP now accepts Pounds with adjusted pricing exclusively for our UK players.

Offer expires June 17th, 2012".

Is there not a Dev or someone that knows how to actually use this fantastic offer?

I too would like clarification on this issue as I have 2 dormant accounts that I would consider reactivating, but only if I can be certain that it really is £4.99 in total, for each account to be reactivated.

Great to hear that you are thinking of re-subbing your other accounts should the right offer come along to entice you. As mentioned, this particular offer was for UK trial accounts to upgrade for a special price and could not be used with an existing, previously upgraded account.

You will normally be advised of any offer your account is eligible for be email, however if you sent in a petition we would be happy to look into this and advise you of any offer you could take advantage of at the moment.

Thanks to those who offered some helpful advice here, I will keep an eye on this thread for a while and hope that I can answer your questions about the various offers. If there is anything else that we can help with please do send a petition as we have been working hard to get the waiting times down after an influx of questions over the weekend.

Thanks for the reply Hummingbird. A word of advice, if you could pass it along to whomever is responsible for writing these emails, would be to change or remove the word "return" from the email, as it does rather imply that the offer is applicable to pre-existing but dormant, accounts.

Agreed, the wording maybe wasn't perfect on this one, thanks for the feedback. This particular offer was sent to those with trial accounts which were never upgraded so 'technically' they would be returning but I completely see where you are coming from.

Personally it makes me very happy when EVE messages are addressed to the particular pilot, since it is not uncommon to make more than one account and easily forget about a dusty old trial that never really got the same love as your main Big smile

Then why send his account the Email? he is not a trail account and you cannot have more than one account for the same email address?

Seems to me that you should honour the offer.

It is possible to have multiple accounts registered with the same email address. We would be more than happy to look into this and help resolve the issue. Please would you kindly have him create a petition using the following link:

https://support.eveonline.com/Pages/Login.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fPages%2fPetitions%2fMyPetitions.aspx

or by sending an email direct to support@eveonline.com so that we can assist.

This promo was rather messy in its execution. It's not good to send customers special deals and then snatch them away.

I came back to Eve last week, and I was given 15 free days when I reactivated my account. On Thursday I received this offer, only to be told that I wasn't eligible (after a two day wait for support) because I wasn't a trial account, even though I haven't paid for Eve in nearly six years. Account management tells me I'm on '15 free days', but Support quibbles and tells me this is not a trial.

Offers are supposed to make players happy and attract them to Eve, but treating returning players like this will only generate negative feeling and turn people away. I was going to come back, but I'm having second thoughts about resubscribing after this.

ho on earth did this pass the ok to send -

is it clear and to the point - no
is it misleading - yes
is it making more work for ccp's gm - yes
is it making customers that might have returned pissed at ccp - more then likely

the person that created the email need to be talked to and this should not be allowed to happen again.

GM Hummingbird thanks for taking the time to reply it is nice when ccp employees get customer service right.

I would simply just petition with false advertising of a product and be done with it.
As the email was sent to a UK registered email the False advertisement UK law would apply.

Sorry for being a bit slow coming back to you, I kept an eye on this thread up until this morning and then got all bogged down in answering petitions.

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles in returning to New Eden, I'm afraid that reactivating an existing account with an offer of free days is rather different than having a trial account and it's pretty hard to work around this distinction. Both kinds of accounts have a specifically different status (one having been upgraded and the other never having been so) so it's not possible to cross select offers for different account types.

Glad to hear that you have already been in contact with Customer Support, I would certainly recommend that if the information you have received so far doesn't make sense in terms of your own account(s) then you should ask for further clarification or even for a second opinion - we won't hold it against you. Our purpose in life is to support our customers after all, sadly this does sometimes mean having to explain that someone else got an offer that you weren't eligible for.

Thanks, and I'm glad to help!

I'm not quite clear which offer you are referring to here, during the course of this thread there have been snippets from a few different offers quoted which is extra confusing when you put them all together.

I understand that having multiple offers running at the same time can cause a bit of confusion, it's trying to find a balance between having something on offer for as many groups as possible and not just presenting you guys with a big jumble of info where one bit applies to one of your accounts where you wanted to use something different.

Like I mentioned before, we are here to help you unravel the various offers and see what can be applied to any individual account if you would care to get in touch with us by making a ticket with your questions.

Also, feedback is welcome, if you find something particularly out of whack and can't make head nor tail of it please let us know Smile

i'm on about the same one as the op the £4.99 no where in the advert does it state trial accounts only.

as a company ccp should make it clear what the offer is for, on any advert before sending it out. now ccp got it wrong this time I'm hoping they will learn and do it right next time
