i stopped reading right there...

you obviously have no idea what you're talking about. you don't have a clue how extremely complicated the code is that runs this game we play. frankly, i'm amazed it works as well as it does. there are so many variables that interact and that are able to create situations that the developers never imagined.

i think the team of CCP developers are some of the most talented people on the planet. go ahead and call me a fanboy, but at the end of the day, you're not only a noob in eve, you're a noob in RL.

good riddance.

Amazing, you just admitted the reason I am cancelling my accounts and dismissed it as being proper for the industry. "If scheduling allows", "release schedule", "post release schedule", etc. These may be the industry norm, but Eve is the only part of the industry that I ever see since I do not play any other massively multiplayer online games. If this is the state of the industry, then none of them will get my money. I do not accept such a poor experience with other products I buy. I will not accept it here either. Perhaps the industry needs to grow up?

You should probably just chuck your laptop or pc in the trash as well because the same process happens on your Operating system. Same goes for your smart phone. And your blueray. And possibly your tv.....

No you aren't

Yeah, it's pretty obvious, but I'm trying really hard not to ride this guy too hard.

Still, it would be interesting to hear what he comes up with if asked what game software titles he has developed, or what software he has had a significant role in developing of any kind that involved 50k people or so all concurrently interacting in hundreds of thousands different ways on a single shard server.

Look, it is not REALLY important whether or not I am a programmer. What is important is the experience that I am having and whether or not I am enjoying it vs the amount of money I am paying.

Just for the hell of it though... log in to IRC on efnet and go to channel #c. Say this in the channel: calc bjarne

I wrote that bot. I am unsure how else to show you over a forum... but as I said, my credentials as a programmer are irrelevant.

Well, no. But even if what you say is true, I do not have as many problems with those other devices and if I did, I would return them as defective.

Whether or not YOU miss me is irrelevant. It is whether or not CCP will miss my money. I doubt that CCP will miss my money, it is only a few hundred a year right between my all of my accounts, right? And I am only one person amongst... well, only about 30k active at any given time but lately, fewer.

This was supposed to go into my cancellation notice but did not. I posted it here for CCP, not for morons to second guess whether or not I should be enjoying myself even if I am not. I guess I should have expected it but this was my first post ever in these forums.

That is one of my points, you could switch it out with 8 year old technology and it would still look pretty... but, meh.

I am done responding to morons. I will check this thread one more time before my account expires to answer/respond to anyone who has something serious to say (as some of you have).

... and would have it patiently explained to you that any issues discovered that can be and have been rectified via a software update are not, in fact, defects.

I doubt you could find a piece of software anywhere on the planet that is 100% bug free.

You may have actually meant well, in a snarky kind of way, in posting this thread... but you have to understand that when you make a post as full of inaccuracy and exhibiting such a fundamental lack of knowledge of how these processes (of necessity) must work you are going to get called on it.

Regardless, as I said before, I wish you well with whatever game (if any) you end up trying next.

Oh so you keep automatic updates turned off and leave massive programming holes in your stuff that would otherwise be fixed with said patches that make you angry. Gotcha.

Meh, why not one more response to a moron/troll?

I will accept that I am self-entitled as soon as you accept a lesser value for your money than you think it is worth. Would you pay $100k for a Hyundai? Would you keep taking that Hyundai back to the same maintenance shop if they were not really maintaining your car very well? Even the dimmest moron would not do such things (I hope!).

Hm. I just realized why I should not post one more response (but will anyways). Never argue with a moron. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I have to admit, you folks can be quite hilarious. I can see why you act so stupid. It is great fun trolling. The only problem is that you still look stupid.

Interesting. Is this memory leak somehow selective?

I ask because I have not experienced this nor has anyone I am in contact with, and usualy a memory leak (sound related or not) is fairly universal. I personally keep the sound on in EVE, which puts me in the minority I am sure.

I know three people with the same issue, two of us have the same sound cards (onboard RealTek HD, but different drivers) but one has a completely different chipset. It certainly seems to be a minority issue though from the feedback we've received.

My desktop has Realtek HD audio and it never had this issue. Maybe it is some odd combination of devices that causes this to happen? If that is the case, then I don't think it would necessarily be CCPs fault for not testing every single possible PC configuration.
