Unable to see drones in space

A few days ago (not sure exactly when since I don't use drones daily) I noticed that I no longer see the drones floating around my ship or others ships. I still see them on the overview and if I select them in the overview they show up in space but as soon as I deselect them they disappear again.

I have Drone models checked in the display and graphics tab and I hadn't made any changes on that page that would cause this. Does anyone have any idea how to fix? It would be nice when missioning with a partner to see where their drones are off to next vs waiting for the damage to show on the targets.

Was able to get them back by clearing cache and all settings for a 2nd time. It did not work the first time. Will see if it lasts.
