The spirits of my kin are with you on this day Ava.
I only regret that I cannot be there in person.

I will make offerings to the spirits that the rites are a boon to these new faces as they join their brothers and sisters for the second time.

May they, and you, live well.

Many believe in the spirits just as much as the Amarr believe in their God. That is all part of tradition.

I will have to do the same however and follow what those have said before me. Yesterday I have started having some engine and electronic issues with the Rifter I was going to travel in and may not make it to the ceremony in time. It does not look promising with the repairs and troubleshooting I will have to do for me to even return to my home station where my other ships lie within.

I shall be lighting candles in the quarters I am staying in on that day and hope the two who are recieving their voluvals have much joy and blessings in their life.

((My computer with EVE installed got the blue screen and died on me yesterday! So I don't even know how long it will be until I can even get back in game Cry))

I'm terribly sorry, Ava Starfire, upon reflection, we shall not be able to make it after all. I've bought a new hair-drier and intend to use it on the day in question.

It's a shame because my daughter spent some considerable time drawing you a picture of a snowman. It is very good.

Its ok.

I recommend using it in the bathtub.

Good, very good.

The thing came with a complementary box of hair-dye which I shall pass on to you, to disguise your roots.

Not as nice a gift as a snowman, but more practical.

Agreed 'Kala.

Miss Starfire, if there is no specific reason why not, I'd like to visit if possible. I had meant to visit at the last Voluval, but I had gotten too absorbed in one of my projects to remember. :-(

There's a slight difference in that God is real while Minmatar religious traditions are based on superstitious jibber-jabber.

Your god is as fictitious as the spirits my ancestors worshiped so fervently. We have absolutely no need for any supernatural explanations in our understanding of the world around us. If the belief structure leads your people to do good things, including finding solace in a cold universe, then it serves some valid purpose, but do not confuse this with reality.

I personally find little value in ritual, though I respect those within and without my people who find it useful. This includes the ceremony being announced in this discussion. But what value I do find has much more to do with societal cohesion, not with appeasing some capricious spirit creatures for whom we have less evidence of existence than we do a Jovian prostitute.

In your own thread please, dear.

Thank-you for the kind gesture, Ava. If I can find the time away from my meetings, I shall take the time to meditate upon the two young Matari aforementioned.

Your condescension is as unwelcome as it is transparent, and I will thank you not to attempt to dissuade me from making on topic remarks - even remarks which you may find inconvenient.

From my limited understanding of Matari culture, it is more of a child becoming an adult and finding their place in the Matari society.

While this is your opinion pilot Blake, This does not mean that it is correct.

We would surmise, that if the belief of millions means that your god is real, the same would hold true of the spirits the Matari speak of.

Thank you for a succinct and rational rebuttal.

More on topic; Ava I'll do my best to attend. It's been far too long and I'm looking forward to seeing you and Kala again.
