Hi all

I would like some advice on what Large Armor Repair to buy if I like something else than T2

Tried read forum, google etc but dont really think i can find an usefull answer.

Ship: Gallente Dominix Navy be able to do Lvl 4 mission solo without have to warp out.
Been using 2x T2 LAR before, but want to swap 1 out for more firepowe (drones)

thanks in advance

What is your current LAR use? Try to fly/fit your Domi in such a way that you only need to run 1 repper most of the time. Only use the second as needed. Experiment with overheating the first and see if you get by without using the second. Try to get some higher resists, deadspace them first. Once you're there a C-type or perhaps even Imp Navy LAR will do.

Imp Navy or Dark Blood LAR's are a nice safe increase with lower PG and higher rep amount over the T2 for around 100mil.

Both are indentical in stats, Dark Blood are slighly cheaper though, I assume because the majority think either the Imp Navy is better or simply because they're easier to get (Empire LP stores) so they get included in most of the fits posted on Battleclinic and these forums.

Imperial Navy, Dark Blood, True Sansha, and Khanid Navy all have the same rep amount (900 base), cycle time (15 seconds), and activation cost (450). In fact they're all identical; shop for the best price.

Other faction LARs are also identical to one another and share rep amount, cycle time, and activation cost with T2, though they are easier to fit. Don't bother with these unless you need the grid.

Deadspace LARs are a bit different. Corpus and Centus are identical and offer a higher boost (990 to 1260 depending on the model) for more cap (450), while Core offers a slightly lower boost (880 to 1120 depending on the model) for less cap (400). This relationship is roughly equivalent to Pith and Gist shield boosters, where Gist/Core are easier to permarun. However, unlike shield boosters there is no cap efficiency difference in armor reppers (which is to say, all three C-types boost 2.2 armor per cap, all three X-types boost 2.6 armor per cap, etc).

Which you want on a Dominix is pretty much up to you. Deadspace is probably overkill. I'd start with one of the good faction ones and see where that gets you. Note that it isn't going to do nice things to your cap stability, but you shouldn't have to permarun it either. Though if you were anywhere close to permarunning 2 T2s before, it won't be an issue at all.

I bought a Fraction Large Armor Repairer once.

It looked very similar to a Medium Armor Repairer... Ugh

I see what you did here Twisted

@OP -Change your LAR II for faction or Deadspace ones is a very good investment provided you have very good skills in other areas, otherwise you're just patching some skilling defaults with an expensive mod (Dead space eventually)

You navy domi will appreciate some deadspace mod however make sure the dps you will win will compensate for the tank loss, tank with dps is ok but add an extra 3rd mod that brings you 25% of the base benefits is a bad calculation imho.
