EvE WONT start... AGAIN

ive recently donloaded the full client after reactivating my account.

Its installed, ready to go, yet i cant run it.

I try going into EvE, my pc looks at things, then nothing. EvE simply refuses to start, or do absolutely anything.

im getting a wee bit pissed off that the game STILL isnt working AFTER i PAYED to play it.

Have you already tried installing the DXSETUP.exe?

You can find it under:

'''[EVE install folder]\bin\DirectX''' (by default this is: C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\bin\DirectX)

DirectX version miss match is one of the most common issues causing startup issues for the EVE Online client


If this doesn't do the trick, could you run Logserver and submit the log in a bug report and post the BugReport ID in this thread?

Additionally it would be very nice if you could provide me with a step by step description what you are doing and what the EVE Client is doing.

first: im not a computer sav vy person, thats very obvious. but thx for showing me what that is.

Second, no ive not done the logserver thing in case i screw it up more.

Finally:

Im doing nothing. I installed and downloaded the client as the system told me to. i DONT install to C drive, i install to D drive because C has almost no space in it as opposed to 180gig on D.

Anyway its installed its ready to go, i double click on the startup icon and... nothing. it just does, nothing. I restarted my PC and exactly the same thing, it simply does, nothing. Just, nothing. I use whatever means i know of, the startup in the file, the quicklaunch icon on my desktop, everything i know and just... nothing.

I just tried the Logserver thing and it does absolutely nothing because EvE does absolutely nothing.

excuse my frustrating rage and i apologise for it.

I already paid my subscription man! i Thought you guys solved this!!!!! its been FOUR months wtf????

OK so you seem to have an issue with the Launcher.

The first thing you should try is to run the Client Repair Tool which solves the most common issues with the Launcher.

You should find it under: D:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\repair.exe


You could also try to work around the Launcher for now by starting the game directly just try running:

D:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\ExeFile.exe

It will not fix your issue but should get you at least into the game if your client is up to date.

thanks for the .exe file fix, i'll run the repair later when i have more bandwidth.

but now heres the EXACT same issue i suffered LAST time, THE VERY THING that forced me to abandon EvE last time

the .exe fix helps me actually get into it, but i CANT do anything because it automatically prompts an update.

The update goes through without any issue, it downloads/reads the information it needs, then the client closes to update.

Update setup does its thing as expected, then, at step 6/7 it simply crashes. i get NO log warning, NO crash warning, NOTHING, it simply shuts down and nothing happens.

THEN i gop back into client, and it prompts me to close for patch application. exactly the same thing. NO log file, NOTHING.

i ran Log Server thing and it got what i THINK was the issue. now what do i do with the log?

Create a bug report here and attach the log.

As soon as you are done post the bug report ID here in this thread so I can find it easily.

Additionally you can also mention in the description that the report is for CCP Sputnik so bughunters know to treat the report separately.

Thanks for sending in the log.

The only issue I can see is that the client isn't up to date.

Can you check if you have issues with HTTP 1.1?

If you dont have issue with HTTP 1.1 you should give the repair tool a spin, its shouldn't need to download a lot but will take a while to collect all the data it requires to analyze your installation.

Hey Guys, got the same Problem the game does not start after launcher besides appearing in the taskmanager process tab. Did several attempts to fix it myself but im running out of ideas. ID is138092

Could you please attach the log server log and if possible a DxDiag report to your Bug Report?


PS. To clarify this is not the same issue Maddox Yung is experiencing (his Launcher doesn't start, the game client runs fine).

Got similiar problem here besides my Repair wont solve the problem and going to the shortcut EXEFILE.EXE is the same the EVE refuse to START e uninstalled n times and running out of ideias
And My log dont Log what gives omg

But here is one for you guys Eliminate The Launcher pretty things sucks all the time

Had this issue some weeks ago, after the last patch i cant play again. Getting very tired of this issues..

Repair dont work, cleaning cache dont work.. i even changed my AV from ESET to Microsft Security Essentials. The exe file stays in task manager but the game dont start.

Fix this please.

Likewise.

I lost a Hard drive on my PC and had to re download and re install, did that and now when I try and run the game the launcher kicks off the

Tried full new download and re-install, Tried restarting PC, Cleared cache and ran repair tool - same result "Play" button is pressed, exefile runs in Task manager but game does not start, four accounts out of action.

No problems with any other game have re-installed - just Eve

Bug report submitted. Launcher sucks, used to be able to just copy the entire directory and run the game :-( Never had a problem like this since i started playing

We rolled out a change to the way we install DirectX with Inferno 1.1, are you guys still having issues starting the game client now?

Sorry, your issue is of course not related to the DirectX install (got sidetracked there by a few people), have you seen already my last reply to you?

Patch day yesterday-logged in no prob-then last night-launcher tells me server is onlinline-click play-server status unknown-I've rebooted, reinstalled(took all afternoon), Run repair tool several times,cleared cache, tried the Exe file, done everythingI & my corpies can think of! Not my internet connection-Eve is running on my craptop-but I bought this pc to run all my accounts which the lappy can't handle-never had this problem before-patch day-co-incidence? I think not! Help pretty please!
