(Thought i would ask another question)


1. Does anyone know what percentage of the build price of a hulk is Technetium. And what profit the Tech Cartel is making per Hulk sold.


I was talking to a Goon friend recently about this and he said that since the formation of the Cartel the only real deal they had was to destroy as many Hulks as possible, but not many of them could be bothered to go to highsec and do it so they came up with in my opinion some of the best meta gaming ive ever seen in an MMO.

Goon one. " I cant be bothered to go to highsec and gank Hulks all day long even if it will make our alliance rich"
Goon two. "Then why dont we get the pubbies to do it for us"


The campaign started on the forums that miners were evil and all needed to be destroyed and a bounty of 10 million would be paid for each one killed, payable in batches of 10 kills.

It did not take long before highsec players with no assocation to the Goons were saying the same thing and ganking miners and "lapping up their tears". And through all of this the cartel is making a fortune and not having to waste any time or effort ganking miners themselves

+1 to the Goons. You truly are the puppeteers of EVE and there is no end to the list of gankers who bought the story and are making you a fortune.


Love them or hate them the Goons are some of the shrewdest players in the game.

We'd gank Hulks anyway. Not for the payouts, but because it's funny.

i did a rough breakdown of the raw materials that go into a Hulk and the 500 or so units of Tech that go into one (based on blueprint levels) makes up roughly 40% of its market value

i didn't ask if you had issues killing them in nullsec, i asked if the goons had any plans on the Goonswarm Federation Sponsoring Emergent Gameplay for all pilots galaxy wide against all tech 2 ships and not just ones that don't shoot back ?

So far the plans for this are going to require that the ganker also flies a tech heavy ship, so if the target does fire back and wins, we still make bank.





And did some one say Drakes? I thought I heard Drakes? Don't hold out on me man.

so you're alliance isn't interested in shooting anything that might shoot back and cause you not to make a profit, aslong as a tech 2 ships dies it's all good,, gotya so this is indeed all about controlling the market and making the goons richer.

Also to the people talking about ganking other tech II ships and stating hulks are only killed because they dont shoot back are completely missing the point.

The hulk was chosen as

1. It is the most numerous tech II ship in the game.
2. It has the smallest tank in comparision to its size (and the way that miners fit their ships).


If they had chosen highsec broadswordaggeddon then Goon profits would be a lot lower so in financial terms the hulk was the only real choice to make.
