Some players reported not being able to start up their clients after the last patch, so i put in some effort and managed to get the old mac repair tool up and running again.

Just for giggles I ran it on a working client. I know I know, tickling the dragon's tail. The repair tool downloaded some stuff. I then ran the launcher and the it downloaded a patch for version 377968 to 377968 (Same number), 9.72 MB. The client still ran.

So: it does something, but does not patch to the right thing.

Thanks.

That one ran on a working client and downloaded nothing, the expected behavior. Now we need someone to try it on a broken instal.

Thanks for the effort Mandrake, but the repair tool did not work for me.

Since patching the client yesterday it won't even load the login screen. Fans go full bore. Screen turns black. Nothing else happened.

Client had been stable and playable before that for a long time.

MacBook Pro
2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1024 MB
Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 (11E53)

Of course since this was a random patch... my training queue was unprepared, and now at least 2 of my accounts are not training. Ugh

In an effort to login so I can train skills, fuel my towers, and you know... maybe play the game... I tried running the repair tool again. But the forum gets ganked if I paste the log... Roll

So here you go:

This issue seems particular to MacBook Pro laptops. The client runs fine on my mac mini. It seems that the login page loads because you get a text prompt when you move the mouse over where the username and password boxes should be. The problem is that the screen itself is not displayed.

I ran the EVE repair tool on the client. The client reloaded the current patch and I am back to the blank login screen.

I got the same problem with the same MAC.
I did run the repair tool today after I completely reinstalled EVE, but didn´t´help anyway.

Please fix it, cause I badly need to shoot some red crosses! :-P

After the path today 31st of may, I can't play eve anymore. I've tried the repair tool - with no luck.

When I start Eve, the launcher screen appears and it says "Client is ready" and I can press the "Play" button. After that, nothing!

When I look in Activity Monitor, there is no Eve running.

I have a MacBook Pro. If you need other information, please get back to me.

Please FIX IT!!!

Update:

01.06.12 13:30 am (MET)

(after the patch today still the same problem)

...

After starting the EVE client and pressing PLAY I get a blank white screen in window mode.
When I switch to full screen with CMD-Enter I get a blank black screen.

Now I tried to type my password in the dark and I could log in, but still a black screen - you can hear the "connecting sound".

Now the cursor changes when I´m sliding through the black screen.
I select my character in the dark just by knowing where I usually click and get into the game.

Now I can here all the game sounds (I´m at a station) but still the whole time a BLACK SCREEN.

Pressing ESC pulls no Menu into front.

Finally got the client working again. I had to delete the cache.

Here's how to find the cache files on the MacBook Pro in OSX Lion

If you cannot see your users library file, here is how to unhide it.

Can this tool permanently be linked in the downloads section? I corrupted my app with a patch download which was interrupted and Im hoping this will fix it (now that I find the proper version, found 3 old ones with google).
