But since most of the threads/info are pretty outdated, I just wanted to ask:

Can a Serpentis 8/10 and 10/10 be solo'd by a Tengu with a
6 Launcher Setup,
2 B-Type Smalls,
Kin and Therm Hardener (91% Therm and 89% Kin resists, can upgrade to deadspace-hardeners)
SBA,
10MN AB
Ballistics in Lows?

I read that the 60k+ Trick won't work in the 8/10, but in the 10/10 so my concern is:

Can this Tengu tank the Citadel Torps and kill the web-stuff fast enough? And can I solo both? Will I need someone with a DPS Ship to bring down the structure in one of them?

10/10 - Yes you can solo it easily, tengu will break the tower in the last room if you are beyond 60km.

8/10 - Your tank is probably sufficient if you have confidence you can kill the webbing frigs that you will warp in at 0 on in the last room quickly enough. The damage doesn't exceed your tank as long as you kill them before the cruisers/battlecruisers/battleships that spawn ~50km away from you get to you (and the second set of webbing frigs.

The tower can be solo'd as long as you have a second ship that can speed tank the torps (I used an AB dram with a small gistii b-type shield booster). The way the tower works is that it stops repping when it switches targets. So you need to fly your tengu out to like ~75km, and the tower should switch to your dramiel or whatever.

Thx, already read about that aggro changing trick. How much raw damage do the torps int both plexes do? My alt can only fly Amarr ships, so a Speed tanking Crusader comes to mind. Guess I'll have to try it out ;)

i don't know the raw damage, but a speed tanking frig (use an AB, not a MWD) easily tanks it with like a 30 dps tank.

edit: I think when i was doing those plexes, I used a dramiel with ~90dps of tank. it's pretty easy to do if you put the appropriate hardeners on (thermal and kin). If you spent a little time im sure you could figure out which of those damage types it does exactly.

Dmg type is 100% Thermal afaik, but would be interesting to know how much, i heard of 2000 Thermal damage and somewhere I read of a Serp DED with a 180k Therm Torp (which would do about 15k Damage to my Tengu if not moving?!) which is why I wondered if a Tengu won't instapop if it gets hit ;)

So I'll try to find a 10/10 first and if I ever feel comfortable enough I'll jump into the 8/10 and let you know what happened Big smile

You won't get instapopped. Start moving as soon as you get in the plex, and you'll still be going around ~15m/s when fully webbed, but that's more than enough in conjunction with your sig radius to keep you from taking virtually any damage. The torps in those plexes are not the issue by a longshot, the real issue is letting the rats get to close so they apply dps to you, that's why I'm saying you need to kill the webbing frigs first, and fast (use faction ammo).

Precisions work well on the webbers couple volleys faction too of course.

I find that faction is in general better becuase you lose too much dps from using precisions. Sure they hit the frigs better, but they also cause you to do half the dps vs using faction.

i just went ahead and eft'ed the applied damages onto a 40m sig. with my skillset (most missile skills 4, some 5), +5 implants and rigor/rigor/flare rigging, scourge precision outdamage caldari navy scourge only when the target speed is well over 600m/s. iirc regular rats don't move this fast unless they are MWDing, so on the whole, i wouldn't ever bother with precision and just carry regulars (which are still better than precision up to ~200m/s) and navies.

I should buy an Ishtar.
