Suspending my account

So I wanted to temporarily suspend my account for a short time. I paid a 6 month sub which expires in September.

I looked around on the Account Management page and unless I'm terribly blind, I don't see something like this available. Am I just stuck with training up long skill queues and checking in every 2 weeks or so? There's no way to save some subscription time?

Thanks

nope. You paid for service between X months and that is what you are receiving. Get those long queues going.

While we're on the topic, if I let my account lapse at the end of the subscription, can I still post in the forums? Or is posting only possible with an active account?

Been there, and no, you can't suspend the acount and save time for whenever you can use it later. Also you can't post without an active account.

No, there would be no reason to subscribe and CCP would go bankrupt.

Actually this is incorrect, we pay for game time but CCP has turned this into training skill time and we the players have accepted this. As customers we should be able to suspend our accounts when we are not playing and the Training skill queue excuses is just a way for CCP to make more isk.

When you hire a car for a week and come back from your holidays 2 days early, do you think they will give you 2 days to use it next year somewhen?

You pay for set number of days between 2 dates. It's your choice if you use it or not. Otherwise a simple 1 months play time could turn into a year or so if you only logged in an hour here and there.

Nothing incorrect about my statement at all, you just want something that isn't available and yet feel entitled to for some strange reason. Also, CCP would make the same amount of money regardless if you played 6 months in a row or six months staggered so the last portion of that statement is BS. If they did have that option though, I would say that training should automatically be discontinued the second you hit the button rather than continue for up to 3 days after account expiration now because you and I both know that people would meta their accounts to maximize a year+ of training time into 6 months of pay.

I don't feel entitled just think it is a good idea.

No they would not, at present I buy 90 days game time and it yes used up in 90 days. If you where able to suspend your account then I could suspend my account after 25 days and come back whenever I wanted to and use up the rest of my game time.

[quoteIf they did have that option though, I would say that training should automatically be discontinued the second you hit the button rather than continue for up to 3 days after account expiration now because you and I both know that people would meta their accounts to maximize a year+ of training time into 6 months of pay.][/quote]

I agree, as such a suspend function might work as such. Press suspend button, this action can be undone until downtime.
Once dt occurs account is suspended and skill training stops immediately. Account is then suspended until next dt when you can either re-active account or leave it suspended.
