Stop being so bitter, you got what you wanted, carry on and lets proceed for a brighter future.

CCP have apologised other times in the past, then turned around the next day, told the Press the opposite.

You seem to have the memory of a tadpole.

A message was sent from many of us to Sony and Star Wars Galaxies, a Message was sent from CCP to us here, and a message will be sent back again to the MMO INDUSTRY in the form of an harsh example.

Himlar clearly states in his "apology" PR blog, the industry is changing to FREE TO PLAY and INGAME transactions (not micro in CCP's case), and he clearly intends to FOLLOW THE INDUSTRY.

If you missed that, go read his blog again.

All he is doing is doing the "right thing" meaning he will still continue down his path, except using baby steps, in baby bites so you can swallow it easier.

Just like when market trading in Eve, if they wont follow your price war down 10m a go, they WILL follow you down in 1 mil steps, TEN TIMES (OR MORE) - go try it in game. It works.

errr I'm playing the game for 4 months, still take your chill pills, you are taking too much on the serious business.
Wait The Winter patch before releasing the Krakens all around.
Edit: Also, if they keep it up the game will close , people will regret sometimes in some nostalgia and life goes on.

Please buy more PLEX so I can play free.

Cheers.

I read the posts by CSM members and their supporters and am a bit disgusted by their attempts to take credit for hilmars blog post. When the CSM couldnt tell us anything worth a damn. And only took the side of the dissenters 3 months after the fact.

A Blog post that is, MANY MONTHS LATE.

Many months of polish to make it sound good. I want a you tube vid of fat hilmar so i can judge his TONE. Not read it and imagine he really means. It I need to SEE it. Netfilx email pissed me off enough as it was. But that email only came after a projection of that ceos decision would cost them a million subs and a huge lose in stock value.

IT was us the players unsubbing EN mass and continuing to keep the player base aware.

Icarna cost me a graphics card.

ONLY good thing about this is that they are on record as admitting they really messed up.

And it proves all the people saying the CCP protester gangs were just a minority were false.

MILLA had more to do with this blog post then anything the csm did IMO.

Edit: Ill wait to see what they do. This is just words i want the results. Im tired of the lies and double talk and double think crap they pull.

I've said dozens and dozens of times on these forums in the past few weeks that I am dissatisfied with Dominion and have been for nearly two years now and the proof is in the pudding that if CCP does not fix or remedy the situation come winter a lot of us will likely see no reason to remain in null sec. Hint: Even Goonswarm is bored with null security.

Apologist, hardly. Stop thumping your pulpit.

Dunno about that mate, you've been busy thumping your pulpit right through the whole thread. Read what you had to say the first time, so stop boring us with more sermons.

What a mundane life you must lead.

You getting mad bro ? Get out of the pulpit and into the fresh air, helps with the whole keyboard warrior syndrome.

Feh , I bet if Hilmar post a video crying ,you guys probally would saying that he is being drama actor or something like that.
Instead of asking these sort of absurds, why don't you guys wait for the winter patch or cancel your subs and wait for the patch?

So now CCP find their selves in a do it or do it situation there is no more space for escapism, thats my point, but some people are running high on nerdrage to actually see it.

And **** yes its a damn corporation , main purpose is money, but now money is threatened, they are going to do something.
Coming with those pseudo-anarchist-communist speechs of how evil is the corp for making money its sort of invalid...

I for one think this Blog was excellent.

For those that claim he's just saying a lot of 'I'm sorry'.. think again. He's a CEO, he blogged about the CEO level of CCP's plans. Then LINEKD TO A SECOND BLOG WHERE THERE IS MORE NITTY GRITTY ABOUT WHAT IS GOING TO BE IMPROVED.

Not vague empty promises, but real ones. There is a list of stuff there they intend to improve on. On it are several things that we've been wanting for a long long time.

Also if you read his blog, it's not just PR speak and vagaries, it's a blog of someone that finally got his head out of his other side, and admitted he was wrong.

Also, he clearly stated that the NEX store stuff is vanity stuff only, unless the industry changes dramaticly. Now think about this for a bit.
Are we moving to a Free-to-play mode, probably, however, game breaking items where real money > investment of time in a game is not something you will see in ANY successfull major MMO.
This is because of the simple principle of Mudflation. Where the old gear just becomes useless and you have to go jump 20 hoops or shell out 50 bucks for a new set of uber gear.

Wow has this problem, which is why it's slowly dieing. Eve on the other hand does NOT have this problem. Yes, we have inflation, and increase of the general wealth both in assets and money all over the game, this is normal for even a regular society, the trick is, that it is gradual, and not exponential. That there are valves and stopgaps which slow this down, and balance it.
The simple fact that Eve is still going strong 8 years after launch is proof of this.

yes, things have been wobbly, and gone a little pear shaped this summer, and they paid for that. And now we are seeing them realising this and setting a new ( better? ) course.

As such, I don't think we'll ever see Pay2Win in Eve, simply because this will be a stab right into the heart of the game. As such, I think we'll never see anything that will enhance your skill training, or gold ammo which is superior to anything that the economy produces.

I see a good future for Eve.

Does railgun ammunition come in Hollow Point?

Have not read the blogs in OP yet, however seeing this post by a dev, essentially begging us to comment suggests that maybe CCP have finally started listening to both what the players say and what the players do.

I know many (decent) people that would rather sacrifice their job, company, spouse or pet project than write a public admission of their errors & mistakes the way Hilmar did.

For me the essence of his statement is "I don't care what my peers in the industry think, I don't care what the gaming media will make out of this, I don't care if some of my lieutenants & employees think I have given up and caved in to silly customer demands - I do what is right because I love this game".

There are many ways Hilmar could have made this much easier for himself (while still reaching the desired affect) but he didn't.

I agree (and Hilmar himself acknowledges it as you may have noted) that ultimately actions matter, not words - but my point is that (unless you have no self-respect at all) writing words such as these are pretty drastic action in themselves.

edit: in your stereotypical profit-seeking enterprise the logical consequence of Hilmar realizing he might have made bad calls in the past would have been to fire Zulu, not to post a public admission of his own responsibility.

Actually no, CEO's do it all the time, in larger companies they even get paid more than the GDP of a developing country to LEAVE the company after.

In fact, Himlar will be very successful after, IF WE LET CCP CRASH AND BURN, failure is a requirement to boardroom success.

The only CEO's that cry in public when apologising are the Japanese. Either because they have to appear on a gameshow infested with aligators biting them in the nuts, or being dragged down mount everest in a portaloo on TV.

No matter how this whole matter eventually turns out, one major aspect for me that CCP will have a very hard time of reinstilling into me is the fantasy, the illusion of a futuristic universe. It has been tainted by reality by this whole mess.

It is not that I have any mental problems or not grounded in reality, but hell, like most people, I have a job I despise. I feel I do not get paid enough for the over abundant amount of work I do daily. So Eve was my cheap escape from the daily routines. Instead of being worked-up about some slight, I relaxed by "falling" into the whole altered reality of this gaming universe. Over the years, the minor changes began chipping away at this altered reality.

- The four races were distinct in appearance and gaming lore. Now everyone appears to be a carbon copy of each other.

- The whole lore of being a pod pilot - a living god among mortals that had the curse of being entombed within a metallic egg was reduced to modern day fashion models freely walking without worry in a single room within moments of departing an extention of our physical being (our ship).

- To listen and watch this last Alliance Tournament turn into a marketing gimmick instead of combat among the best of the best pilots.

- To see that with the conversion of real life money, I can increase my wardrobe!

And while there are more, the worst one is the cold reality that CCP went from appearing as everyday gamers that loved what they were doing to a group that pushed potential profits above all. After dealing day in and day out with marketing speak, how to boost profits, and how to deal with even more added workloads under tighter limitations, the last thing I wanted was my break from it all to become that which I despise most.

So CCP - show me the care and passion to "want" to be in this gaming world above all other gaming worlds.

Thanks for reading.

Finally.......

thank you Hilmar, anyone who has had to have the realization that they are driving something to ruin should know it hurts.. bad. and It takes a good leader to then take stock and make the changes to put things right and not quit.

we all know in our minds what we want eve to be, and how good it can be, look back a couple of years and the gameplay was truly amazing. then we set down a path of wrong turns which have led us to where we are now.

but if the numbers say it's going well why stop...?

when you have a community of 500k subscriptions many of the voices seemingly screaming the warning just didnt have the support to make people listen. obviously things have changed.. the faithful players reached their breaking point. and now finally this is the first time i think we can really have some confidence that it might not be all talk. it's taken longer than it should but EVE isn't dead, no you can't have my stuff and their are good time ahead.

Please now don't think this can all be fixed by xmas, cos it can't. this needs to be a beginning of a relationship with the player base and dedicated teams looking inwards on EVE continuously to maintain balance.

now is not the time for a fix, a culture change is what we need and want CCP, don't let us down.

I'm quite happy with these blogs and if the summer's revolutionary fervour in New Eden has brought about a change in direction from CCP then all well and good. Perhaps too early for the jita protestors and the heroic forum rebels to pat themselves on the backs yet but its encouraging signs at least.

I still believe NeX is an obscenity in Eve though. And CCP should be concentrating on giving us more expensive things to aspire to in ISK (that rl fat cat players can attain by buying and selling plexes etc) rather than reinventing the wheel and foisting this horrible Aurum currency on us.

All that vanity content for Incarna should be delivered in the form of blueprints for player industrial manufacture in the traditional manner that enriches the economic simulation rather than shortcutting it.

I hope CCP is still listening on this point and is prepared to consider genuine reevaluation of the entire "NeX experiment."

Don't ya love PLEX - PAY TO WIN!

Buying a PLEX creates a market for PLEX, which supplies CCP with more money than if you had bought a subscription. A PLEX costs $20/month but a subscription costs $10-15/month.

Ok now I have read both Hilmers? lteer and Zulu's Blog.

The letter - if released on June 30th (straight after CSM meeting) would have made everyone calm the **** down. While Millia may disagree Roll CCP are admitting they got things wrong.

The Blog - Everything listed in the upcoming winter expansion I agree with. Everything. To those of you mocking and dismissing the CSM, check out their blogs on the old forums pre elections. The recent events have compelled CCP to listen to us via subscription numbers and they have listened to the CSM regarding game features.

From a jaded bitter player: Big ups CCP for swallowing your pride and realising that with out customers you cant do ****. Big ups to the CSM for getting the features that every player I know wants. ******* Aye!

Well I am at work so I can't read it .

But by the sounds of the comments, no Incarna and a bunch of stuff that means nothing to me once again.
Can't really say I wasn't expecting it though.
