Space flight is fun without a ship and spacesuit. Makes your eyes go boom.

While I don't quite agree with a lot of the "who cares" sentiment (some of that stuff is vital for the game to continue to even exist), I do agree with the basic windoze functionality stuff... seriously, what's up with window and text behavior feeling like something from 1993? It's something you do get used to pretty quickly and most players stop noticing before they start noticing all the rest of the broken stuff, but it's like there's a whole extra layer of software in there that throws out all the advances in Object Oriented programming.

Also along the lines of UI... default window layouts. I think it took me 2 years to come up with a window layout that I don't feel is "wrong." If I was a slightly less persistent rookie, that probably would have put me off the game entirely. (random thought: I'm still not sure if I agree with the current Channels and Mailing lists over the old one... the new one might make more sense in some ways, but the old one was more convenient to have all your 'subscriptions' in one place, and the old one was easier for rookies to find.)

While we don't have a problem with players disagreeing we do maintain that they post in a constructive manner. Thread locked.
