The older I get, the more stuff I forget.

Someone please dumb down building for me.

I was just starting to get into building before I left. Now, I picked up Capital Ship Construction. I buying it and getting the ball rolling with it, I had to ask myself WTH am I doing ?

So I need a bit of guidance when it comes to understanding how to read a blue print and what is important about them. What is the difference between a copy and a Original type of thing.

Sorry to seem daft, but really a year back in RL and the changes ingame have got me all off track.

BPO - Blueprint Original which is an infinite run blueprint so you can manufacture for as long as you own the print.

BPC - Blueprint Copy which is a limited run blueprint allowing you to manufacture a certain number of items before it is no longer useful.

Material Efficiency (ME) - This reduces the amount of manufacturing materials wasted in the process of producing from that blueprint. The materials required to manufacture from the blueprint are dynamically updated in the blueprint details as your Production Efficiency skill and the level of ME research on the blueprint increases.

Blueprints with level 0 ME normally have 10% material waste, though there are known cases of 5% and 0% waste. Each level of ME reduces the remaining amount of wasted materials by ever decreasing amounts; increasing the level of ME research will yield a lower reduction in wasted materials at higher ME levels.

Production Efficency (PE) - This reduces the time required to manufacture one batch of an item with the respective blueprint. This time is dynamically updated on the blueprint original each time a level of PE is researched. Each level of PE will decrease the time required to produce one batch by a differing amount that is relative to how many levels you have already researched. The more levels you already have, the less effect each additional research level has.

You also might want to not start your industry career directly with building capital ships... try ammo or modules before ships.

i second that, cap ships arent the way to start to produce. start with small ships/ammo/t1 moduals. til you really get the hang of it. starting off at cap ship production... you are just asking to lose your money some how.

i second what the others are saying, please leave all the cap ship profits to me. start with something that takes lots of clicking and minerals to actually make any decent isk from. like missiles, sure there's a 20% markup from minerals; what's that you say?? you need to produce 20 billion of them to make any meaningful profit?? well then, get to work noob!!

Actually, there are 92+ or so items/modules/etc that have manufacturing prerequisites of Capital Ship Construction I... not even counting all the ship hulls.
