No. It's Amarr and Caldari vs. Minmatar and Gallente. So it's Minmatar and Gallente that have a problem with Jita.

TBH even if you are a Gallente or Minmatar militia pilot with -10 sec status, you can still go to Jita. It's just a matter of what you do it in....

If you're wanting to be close to Jita, then Caldari would be the militia you want.

... without worrying about Jita access? Sure, that'll do. But if you're inclined to join Gallente or Minmatar:

1. there are other trade hubs
2. you can have a no-skill alt buy stuff in Jita and then have a courier bring it out of Caldari space
3. you can have a some-skills alt buy stuff in Jita and then fly it out of Caldari space
4. you can get help from a FW corp/alliance mate who has the resources to get stuff out of Jita
5. you can on occasion run in and buy stuff anyway. I used to resupply in Hek, which is a Minmatar trade hub. I've been buying and moving ships (frig up to BC) out of Amarr, which is a 1.0 system, even though I'm under -2.0 sec status.

I don't know what they typically do, tho'.

At this rate, Minmatar are going to have to hold a bake-sale recruiting drive. You guys are multiplying like rabbits! (:

Depends on who you want to loose faction with and who you want to gain faction with.

Amarr and Caldari are allies.
Amarr is primarily against the Minmatar while Gallente primarily fight against Caldari .

Minmatar and Gallente are allies.

As I understand Amarr are a bit short of people and have less area than Minmatar.
On the Gallente / Caldari side I can say its seems about even.

To be honest, I started in FW about 3 days ago, and its nothing like what i expected. I don't find it enjoyable (although Ill admit I suck at PvP) but I have learned quite a bit about fitting and PvP, gate camps and using the D-scanner.

If you can find a good corp to join that is active and take part in fleets and have help (if you need tips and advise) it might just be the thing for you.

Some lessons I would offer, having learned the hard way.

Gate camps suck, but nanos and warp stabs help.
Plexing is boring, you either PvE a few and get no fights or you warp in, get jumped and die. Sometimes you get a good fight after you are in the plex.
Or you warp out (or they warp out) of a plex when someone enters.
You get a blob on one side of cruisers/BC, then the other side brings out BC's and Battle ships and before you know it you got two fleets avoiding each other or blobbing.

The best thing about the plexes is the ship restriction, although I still fell outgunned in most 1 on 1's becuase I lack some t2 fitting skills.

You have the other faction to deal with, and pirates.
Getting items moved in to a base in FW low sec base can be a nightmare unless you have access to a JF or blockade runner.
You get "paid" in LP for doing plexes, pew pew and then something else that I forget. In that order.

If you can't afford to loose 5 or 6 of what you are flying you might not want to fly it.
If you cant afford to replace the implants you best get a Jump clone.
You are going to loose ships, and you will get podded. Eventually.
I ended up buying in bulk, what I don't use or loose I will keep. You might want to buy a little a a time to all at once. Depends on how you look at it.
I had X amount of Isk I was willing to spend/loose and in three days I already hit that limit. But I admit, it was a fairly low limit.

I don't enjoy FW, but I have learned some lessons I wanted to lean. I took my losses and I am still giving it a try.
I already decided that its not something I want to do for much longer. However you may love it.

It has some neat features though.

At the very minimum you can always try FW, I suggest that everyone try it to at least dip your feet in some PvP content and learn a few lessons.
Like I said its not for everyone, but I feel that everyone should try it.

You may love it, you my hate it. But I can guarantee that the fastest way to find out and learn a few lessons is just dive in.

Join Amarr, they really need some help.

With regards to the "horrors" of Faction Warefare described above I have to admit that there is some truth in it but if you learn to adapt then you can also make nice money with Faction Warefare. But you always have to keep in mind, Faction Warefare is nothing for people who want to AFK-do-something. Faction Warefare always needs your full attention otherwise you will sooner or later die horribly. So stop chatting with your girlfriend, stop watching TV while doing FW-stuff. Then you will survive.

Finally, it is really a good idea to join a noob friendly corp they will help you to answer to most important questions. Furthermore, go cheap for the beginning. Start with T1 Frigates and expect to lose a lot of them until you get a "feeling" for danger and how to avoid or fight it.

I naturally would like to invite you to join my corp TRIAD, we are noob-friendly but we are Minmatar and thus on the other side of the game.

No I agree. Once you "get it" I am sure its quite a bit more fun for those who like it. Some people will love it and you can make a good amount of money from it.

However, from what I understand (as with anything in Eve) you will eventually loose any ship you fly very often, I set aside time with no distractions to learn what I could and try FW.
I didn't like it.

I will suggest that if you are in the area (Dixie) Genstar Inc is a great place to start, they took me in and gave a lot of tips and advice.
Really good people, great corp.

Anway op, good luck with FW no matter what faction you side with. I hope it goes smoothly for you.

Join Caldari. Here's why

Rats in plexes: in Amarr fw you face missile spam, in Caldari fw you face crappy short range turrets you can just motor away from or orbit in an AB frig.

Markets: Jita is 3 jumps from Nourv which is adjacent to Tama (fw space). Even the other lowsec entry points (like Icho) are close to Jita making resupply easy and cost-effective.
