My Curiosity Befalls..... Ships?

We all love ships.
We all love to see them go *poof* aswell.

We also love good looking ships.......

Flying dildos, The scrapheap challenge, the Raven which..doesnt look like a raven ( the bloody bird ofcourse)... Amarr made ships thinking that building 50 % less of it would seems more cost effective.

Old post putting up the same annoying question.

When will you stop thinking so much about ship textures when the models of the ships are totally crap? not to mention that the only changes that actually have arrived is you adding tier 3 battlecruisers, new scorpion...new rookie ships... Maller. other than that its textures upon textures upon textures.

If CCP could put some more work into new models im pretty sure they would do a excellent job and in fact give some new freshness into the game, sadly that wasnt quite effective with the tier 3 bc's. Maybe the hyperion wouldnt look like a 2-way dildo. Maybe Amarr would have more than half a ship. There's only 3 ships from minmatar i like....maybe.... although even if i do like them they're from 2004 unchanged and no textures it would seem.

CCP si favourizing Amarr and Caldari, leaving Gallente and Minmatar in the dust.
Not everyone will agree with what i say here, saying that classic models is sometimes the best.
Maybe you are correct, maybe i am not correct.

Minmatar needs lots of love.
Think about the rust buckets feelings!

For the pure joy of fun, i have conjured up this magic list of ships that needs lots of love and huggies.
AMARR
- Crucifier
- Executioner
- Tormentor
- Inquisitor
- Aeon
-Archon

Let me point out that there's barely any amarr ships that needs tweaking model-wise.

CALDARI
- Bantam
- Condor
- Griffin
- Heron
- Blackbird
- Caracal
- Moa
- Osprey
- Ferox
- Raven

Okay so that was the 2 simple easy lists over ships that could use a modelwise upgrade.
Now... let the spam begin!

GALLENTE
- Atron
- imicus
- Incursus
- Maulus
- Navitas
- Tristan
- Catalyst
- Celestis
- Exequror
- Vexor ( is generally ok but it could use some love )
- Brutix
- Myrmidon ( why does the myrmidon seem like the only ship gallente has which is not gallente? doesnt follow the design pattern)
- Dominix
- Hyperion
- Megathron ( to some degree )
- Thanatos
- Moros (Oh god why)

Okay that was extremely painful.

MINMATAR ( GOD SAVE THE QUEEEEEEN!)
- Breacher
- Burst
- Probe
- Slasher
- Vigil
- Thrasher
- Bellicose
- Rupture ( to some degree)
- Scythe
- Stabber ( rusty pile of crap )
- Cyclone
- Typhoon ( please give this awesome ship the blessing of a new and more awesome model. i would love to see a new Typhoon model at the level of the new scorp model)
- Tempest ( bloody sail)
- Maelstrom ( the bigger bloody rusty sail)
- Ragnarok ( biggest dildo in the game)

Sure hope i made a Point here. Not to mention that gallente and minmatar look like trash compared to caldari and amarr. and i think this needs to be fixed.
Wasnt there some promise to fix ALL the ship models?

A few pertinent points:

The Minmatar have not been touched yet, nor have cap ships.

More ships models have been redone than what you listed (SB for example).

CCP said they would pick off a few needy ship models at a time to be reworked, and they would be released one or two per expansion. They have been doing exactly that.

As for which ones are needy... opinions vary.

Changing a model means throwing out previous textures. Also, good modellers are much harder to find than texture artists.

You've got quite an opinion about Gallente....

There. A lot less work for the art department.

I generally avoid flying Minmatar because I can't stand the look of their ships, but they're still not nearly as criminal as you're stating.

Apparantly you dont understand the concept of a own opinion. Hence i must believe you're only around here to be a troll and unnecessarily spams this thread at the moment due to a lack of better things to do :) i never said " all of these need new models and look horrible" but some could use spice. Even though you probably didnt really consider that one did you.

It is, if this is a fact, very weird that they do not simply upgrade the models of the ships, but rather spends money and time into textures through the patches.

My point being the ship models are fine because everybody has an opinion about them.

Can does not necessarily mean should.

FYI I love the Tier 3's, I guess they had more of a impact on me than you so I say great job CCP.

Ferox has been cleaned up and its a damn sexy boat.

Moa is like Honeybadger, it doesn't give a ****, it's Moa.

Raven has also received sharper edges and more of a bird like head for a pilots compartment. Just a fyi, ships don't have to be symmetrical.

And a double ended Dildo of a Hyperion? Is there something you want to tell us about yourself because I certainly don't see that when I'm flying one.

The mega? Really? That thing is like the corvette of spaceships. You wouldn't make changes to a corvette now would you? Well, I'm sure you would.

And the Cyclone and Typhoon? Seriously? Those are even sexier than the Ferox. All they really need is the V3 reskin.

Do you smell what the Lock's cooking?

My beloved Typhoon methinks, is one of the coolest looking ships in the game.

First, It really looks like it shouldn't be able to fly. (perfect for the Minmatar mythos)

Second, It looks like a giant drain pipe but it also conjures up an image of the old Star Trek episode where the Enterprise encountered this ancient war machine thousands of years old that was eating up random planets... sort of looks like that.

Third.. it looks scary as hell and finally,

Fourth... looks decidedly male ie like a flying peen.

I think, if anything, that all variants of a given hull should look different from the basic hull and also, from the other variants.

The Thorax is actually the best example nowadays:

It has two (Tech 2) variants, the Phobos and the Deimos. The Deimos has extended nozzles, more exhausts and is generally slightly better looking. The Phobos' hull is based onthe Deimos hull, but has those lovely interdiction thingies that give it a completly different look and feel.

The Thorax has only one more variant, the Vigilant. And CCP forgot to add bits to it to make it different, to the point where if it was coloured like a Vexor, nobody would notice.

So please CCP:

Consider adding the phobos bits, to all Heavy Interdictors, to make them different from their parent hulls. Consider adding several more bits here and there to ship variants. They might even always be the same bit repeated (A bit like the deimos has more exhausts at its lower appendage), but make the ship different already. Consider doing the same to all Hehavy Assault ships, much like several of the Assault ships have (Again the gallente ones are the most different between each variant hull).

Thats all :D

this could be a good solution on the base of Tech 2 ships. If they changed the models of those and kept the old 1's for t1. thats a different approach and they've already done it with the stealth bombers. Not gonna complain about that one.

The reason why they changed the models for stealth bombers wasn't, in my view, due to a new approach. It was simply because there'd be no way for the new missile launchers/bomb launcehrs to fit on the old models really...

I disagree with half of the ships listed in the first post. Likewise, I think the obsession displayed with "space dildos" is a little too much of a rorschach test thing for me.
