You mention AFK mining, not sure how this is done, with my Retriever I can barely get a cup of coffee and it is done and ready to go back to unload....yes I am a noob Big smile

But my question is this, everyone says that goonswarm is doing this because they hate AFK miners, if this is true then am I to assume that if a person is not AFK they will not be attacked?

If people who are not AFK are getting attacked, then it has nothing to do with AFK mining and just ganking.

One is a legitimate reason and the other just comes from inward anger derived from another series of events or hurt feelings.

I believe the point is that a miner that is paying attention (not largely AFK) can easily spot the gank ships on D scan (or if he bothers to set standings or share intel, spot them in local) before they get to the belt, and safely exit before attacked.

And we must admit that the goons, like them or hate them, do treat noobs well - probably better than most alliances. There is a lot of elitism in this game centered around SP and KB stats, meaning that newer and lesser skilled players are left out. This means an untapped resource of players who, given an edge over not wanting ISK and shiney ships, can accomplish just about anything.

I remember just starting out, I needed about 10mil isk for skillbooks, so I asked, and about 10 vets dumped about 50mil on me each. We also get free frigates and cruisers to lose as we please, just as long as we get experience with it. PvP is a lot easier to learn when you can just hop right back into it without having to worry about your bottom line.

If other corps treated their newbies half as well, maybe you empire pubbies could actually organize against us.

At Eve Fest if players meet the kids who think its fun to gank will there be good times or time to settle up in real life?

Except you cannot gank people irl without consequences, which is why people do it in games.

More like some miners don't want to be gankable, and some people enjoy ganking.

What is it about forums that bring out the polar extremes in people?

The irony of a goon talking about polar extremes. Your alliance is what brings out the extremes in people.

Difference being that high sec every neutral can be a possible ganker and please show us how your low ass warping mining barge will gtfo before you blow it up and I can prove it to you whenever you want, this is a myth or you're the luckiest guy ever.

There are also newb gankers, there are also fake gankers but everyone who knows what he's doing, starting By using alts to pull concord away, will gank you in no time and easy no matter how much tank you have.
Then go prove to ccp the guy used an alt 100+ AU of the belt and shot that alt with another alt to push concord away. Good luck. Non the less, this is currently used by some known ones.

And by the way, if you're still mining in this game you're doing it wrong.

One well-placed nuke works well. Cool

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Gankers always bring up AFK miners as their target, especially now since bots have been targeted by CCP. It's a sin not to watch the screen avidly and d-scan every few seconds. This violates the code of Eve. You're supposed to mine the same way you would do pvp. Never mind that this is vastly impractical, the charm of high sec mining being that it does not require total attention. No one is supposed to be able to play Eve without total complete focus on staying alive. Forget that next trip to the bathroom, your bladder is less valuable than your internet spaceship. Creepy fanatics in this game.

I love how more than half of the ganker arguments in why they gank highsec miners are easily rebuked. I'd go so far as to bet money that gankers in Eve are bullies in real life.

Earlier today, the Dixon Mining Guild and the Butz Manufacturing Corporation formed a coalition.

It's hard to tell if there is a light at the end of the tunnel for the Dixon-Butz Alliance.

Easily rebuked by saying that they can't be bothered to be more careful or fit a tank instead of going for max yield?

Your dock button doesn't work? If you have to go use the rest room, dock up for a moment. You got unexpected **** happening, hit the dock button, odds are in your favor of making it to station alive, even if you hit the button and run.

Its happened to me that I hit it as I rush out, and either I screwed up and it didn't engage(my own fault) or someone tackled me before I entered warp. Thats the chance you take for not waiting 60 seconds to make sure you are safely warping out before you leave.

And its your choice to take that chance, knowing full well the risks.

If you take longer than 30 seconds to enter warp, just log out and ewarp.

i see, so joining goons having the free isk is a good start. have a free isk buffer so that u can freely "respawn" your pvp ship ... that sounds like goons are playing a game call WoW ... i get it now ... so OTEC and all the ISK buffer funds, now makes goons an official "WoW" respawn point, hmmm well done goons LOL

so some ppl do have unfair extra advantages in game after all. ganking or no ganking you can respawn pretty fast, that part i am very sure now lol.

and because you can "respawn" them so freely (its free ISK anyway from moon goo), what diff does it make from those who AFK mine? at least in incursions, you cannot specifically AFK farm them. so specifically this free isk buffer allows them to also freely grief anyone else they think is at their mercy of ganking, in hope of collecting tears of sorts particularly from those who cannot afford a isk buffer of this kind. then in the same context, ship to ship PVP would be carrying the same meaning as PVP in WoW, because you do not lose anything, you just respawn.

and probably due to this unfair ISK advantage which runs into trillions, the intel of this financial statement will force possible opponents to possibly start converting huge amts of PLEX to ISK to match a ISK buffer so as a show of "strength" ... or maybe not, but my guess is probably some will really PLEX their isk up to show that they are financially strong entity and competitive in game.

my my my .... i have interesting thoughts without beer ... what will i think of next ...

i know ... so in particular because CCP did change the game mechanics due to the over farming of incursions, will CCP also change the mechanics of moon goo farming? since it is being over farmed?

so in terms of mechanics changes, i would suggest, each corp is max allowed to farm only max 1 tec moon, and max number of tec moons an alliance can farm is 5. but even so, i have reason to believe anyone will over farm this limitation, might as well do it like PI, CCP actively monitor market supply and introduce an actively variable moon goo output according to market forces. or even better, CCP directly seeds hulks or other ships affected by this unbalanced effect LOL.

how am i doing so far? some one comment plz?

WUT ???
