At this place I want to thank Goonswarm for making this the first game i enjoyed to quit "early", since you made it impossible to mine at all in HiSec with ANY Exhumer, cause you made people think even noobs shouldn't mine in HighSec with a Retriever, which was the only thing I am really able to fly and make at least a bit money with to get started.
But since i don't like to mine just to replace the Retriever every time again, this game got worthless for me.

Thank you for ruining this game for new players who try to get started as a miner!

Fare bad, Goonswarm, may your corpses be cut to pieces and fed to craws!

//Edit: And for those saying "get in a corp, get security" etc.: Just STFU, I want to be able to make some ISK even if there is noone around, watching for my ass not being blown to pieces while he's bored to hell. And sometimes it's even useless to have scurity, because they also have a reaction time, in which my Retriever is already blown to pieces.

if someone wants to spend 10-13 minutes to fill up thier cargohold its not giving them an unfair advantage, its gimping thier yield (ie thier income). I fill my covetors hold (5400m3) in just over 3 minutes. My hulk will have barely 8k m3 because i plan on tanking it up nice so it will take me perhaps 4 and a half minutes to fill up. Because i am at my computer, my mining is going to be good yield, with good tank and not afked. hax?

PS I dont fly my hulk yet im about 9 days completing the training i want then it will be ready

The last guy talking about how he was going to go to fanfest to beat up goons irl no-showed in the end so sadly I expect this will be equally disappointing :(

Well, it's mostly because i have "pew pew" in every game and found it rather boring and time consuming with very little payout for a beginner. While mining gave me the possibility to get relatively fast ISK to buy new and better ships (with the Retriever i got in 3 minutes ores worth about 300k ISK, which is more than any L1 or L2 security mission, which both take much more time) also, i wanted to build up a base to eventually follow other paths later - without worrying "Can I afford that? 1 Million? That's half an hour playtime!". And last it gave me the chance to do small things meanwhile, like chatting with friends, eating and reading through EvE-wikis to learn more about the game.

haha make sure you have someone stealth so if a trouble maker rocks up you can fleet warp in on them just in case! Whats the fanfest concord like? I've never been

haha that sounds worse than concord.. i'd go to fanfest if it wasnt like 6000 dollars just to fly there from australia without factoring in any other travel costs, food, so forth

I find that interesting, because the general experience is that mining is not very lucrative compared to the other alternatives. You can't have started out in a Retriever, so I can advise you that your missioning income would have scaled just as quickly (if not more so) as your mining income if you had invested the time in training for a Drake or some such.

Might I suggest that you explore a few of the many other alternatives to mining? Almost all of them are more difficult to learn than mining, but almost all of them are also rather more rewarding. If you're not interested in "pew pew" (by which I assume you mean "shoorting rats") then have you considered the life of a small-time hauler/trader/industrialist? There are numerous lucrative little niches into which an intelligent player can insert himself with a minimal skillpoint investment, many of which are too small for the "big boys" to bother with but will certainly net you more than 2 million an hour.
