it would have been easier for you to just answer me instead of putting an, admittedly, cool link to a google search that DID NOT end up having the actual meaning of the acronym.

I did find out that is stands for "Player Owned Customs Office" on my own, but it is much easier to just ask on the forums and look for someone to reply.

Next time just answer if you know and pass it by if you do not.

no. it took more effort on my part to google it. i came up with multiple listings for articles concerning "POCO" but no actual explaination of what the acronym stood for. Took longer to drill down and find something that spelled out the acronym.

What was easier for me was to ask here and wait for someone to answer it.

People should stop trying to get other people to research and just help them out and answer their questions if they do have the answer. If not then pass the thread by.

did you click on my let me google that for you with the words "Eve poco" where the first 4 say it in the title link or in the brief description?

Stop being so lazy and expecting others to do simple work for you. You're not that important, get over yourself.

ill take the bold and underline as affirmation that you agree with me. These forums are for posting info, experiences and questions. There is more than enough research necessary just to play the game without having to dive deep into a subject that is very easily answered by another person who has already covered the ground.

That being said i do not generally ask a question unless i have already done a quick internet search. In this case i did not find what the acronym stood for so i just posted. I bet this thread will answer the question for other noobs who dont yet know.

This stands true for more complicated topics, but when you can do a google search for "eve poco" and see your answer, HIGHLIGHTED IN BOLD ACROSS THE ENTIRE FRONT PAGE..... no, we will redirect you to lmgtfy. You seriously "did a quick search on your own"? Give me a break. Can you honestly go to google, type in 'eve poco', and tell me your question was not answered?

THEREIN lies the problem. I use Bing as my standard search engine. Type that into Bing and you do not see the acronym spelled out right in your face.

Enough on this thread. The point of my previous response(s) is that people should not think they have the right to tell someone else to research. Just answer if you know.........or dont answer and pass it by.

It is presumptuous to think you can tell someone to find it elsewhere WHEN THEY ARE USING A GAME FORUM SITE DEDICATED TO LEARNING AS WELL AS SHARING INFO

By the way, this was entertaining. Im going to have to find more ways to get people riled up. Very interesting as i sit at work.

You are right, we should encourage people to be lazy and useless.
People, don't ever try to do anything for yourself, always find a way to have other people do work for you. Embrace your laziness and grow fat upon the work of others and berate those who don't immediately jump up to fulfill all your grandest desires.
Never try to learn or expand your knowledge, ignorance is bliss and besides you can always rely and trust in others to do everything for you and always in your best interest.

Its a game bro. In real life trust me its all as you say. Take it easy. Your blood pressure is up.

And, as an add to this getting the info easy from someone else doing the leg work fits right into the spirit of this game. This is EVE after all. If i can get ahead from someone else's labor, the more the merrier Blink

Very true I guess, and trust me I am not worked up, just trying to give the OP a hard time, also in the spirit of the game.

When I saw that thread, POCO sounds for me like POp COrn right now.

Awesome, I will just stay here and enjoy the show with my POCO.

Don't worry, I am here to sort out what was not clear.

The OP basically asked a very simple and trivial question. One of the responses highlighted the fact that this type of question could have been avoided by a simple Google search. The now very common way to emphasize this by using the website that slowly animates an actual Google search, you can find it here btw. So the issue is that it may be perceived as a rude way of conveying that you either disapprove of a question or trying to educate someone in the art of fact finding. You appear to belittle the capabilities of a fellow capsuleer, which would explain the subsequent unraveling of emotions in this thread.

So OP-guy now knows the nature of these kinds of rude responses, and the rude-response-author-guy had a moment of insight on the negative social cues involved in let-me-google-that-for-you.

There, situation defused
